Nirvana
Nirvana was an American rock band formed in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1987. It was founded by singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic.Nirvana went through a succession of drummers, the longest-lasting and best-known being Dave Grohl, who joined the band in 1990. Although the band dissolved in 1994 after the suicide of Cobain, their music maintains a popular following and continues to influence modern rock and roll culture.
Pearl Jam
Pearl Jam is one of the most influential grunge bands of all time. They formed in 1990 and have released ten studio albums, the most recent being 2013’s Lightning Bolt. The band is known for their social activism, particularly their support of environmental causes.

Alice in Chains
Alice in Chains is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1987 by guitarist and songwriter Jerry Cantrell and original lead vocalist Layne Staley. The initial lineup was rounded out by drummer Sean Kinney and bassist Mike Starr, who was replaced in 1993 by Mike Inez. While the band’s active years officially ended with Staley’s death in 2002, various reunion performances have taken place since 2005, featuring William DuVall as lead vocalist.
Soundgarden
Soundgarden was an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1984 by frontman Chris Cornell, lead guitarist Kim Thayil, and bassist Hiro Yamamoto. Matt Cameron became the band’s full-time drummer in 1986, while bassist Ben Shepherd became a permanent replacement for Yamamoto in 1990. The band disbanded amicably in 1997 after releasing their final album, Down on the Upside.
In 2010, Soundgarden was announced as a headliner for that year’s Lollapalooza music festival. A reunion tour took place in 2011 and 2012. In April 2013, the band released its first new song in 16 years, “Been Away Too Long”, which would appear on its sixth studio album, King Animal (2012). A seventh studio album, Telephantasm (2010), a greatest hits album, was released on September 28, 2010; it featured “Black Hole Sun”, which topped multiple charts worldwide following Cornell’s death two months later.
Stone Temple Pilots
Stone Temple Pilots was a grunge rock band that formed in San Diego, California in 1989. The band consisted of Scott Weiland (vocals), Dean DeLeo (guitar), Robert DeLeo (bass guitar), and Eric Kretz (drums). The members of Stone Temple Pilots first met in the 1980s while attending high school in California.The band’s first album, Core, was released in 1992 and was a commercial success, spawning songs like “Sex Type Thing” and “Creep”. Despite their success, the band was plagued by drug addiction and internal tensions, leading to Weiland’s firing in 1998. The band reformed in 2008 with new lead singer Chester Bennington, but disbanded again in 2013 following Weiland’s death.
