Introduction
We Will Rock You is a musical based on the songs of British rock band Queen with a book by Ben Elton. The musical tells the story of a group of Bohemians who struggle to restore the free exchange of thought, fashion, and live music in a distant future where everyone dresses, thinks and acts alike.
The musical includes such Queen hits as “We Are the Champions”, “Somebody to Love”, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, and, of course, “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
The Plot

The Music
The music of We Will Rock You is mostly rock, with a few ballads mixed in. The show contains Queen’s most popular hits, as well as several reworked versions of the band’s less radio-friendly material.
The Characters
The musical follows the lives of a group of Bohemians who struggle against an oppressive society that has banished all forms of art and self-expression. The main character, Galileo Figaro, is a young man who dreams of starting a revolution through the power of rock music. Other characters include Scaramouche, a feisty female lead; Britney, Galileo’s best friend; and Khashoggi, the band’s manager. We Will Rock You is set in the future, but it draws heavily from the experiences and zeitgeist of the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The Setting
The musical is set in the future, where a globalized society has lost all sense of individuality, music, and fashion. A group of “Bohemians” struggle to restore some semblance of individuality to the world.

The Lighting
The stage lights up with a bright white light, and the curtains slowly open. The first thing that is seen is a large rock set piece in the center of the stage. There are mountains in the background, and the set is very realistic looking. There are various types of lighting used throughout the show. Some of it is very dim, to represent the dark underground world that the characters live in. other times, there is a lot of color used, to represent the different lights that are found in clubs and on stage.
The Set
The musical is set in the future where a global corporation, “The Globalsoft Corporation”, has control of the world. The main character, Galileo Figaro, works at a London department store, but his dreams are to be a rock star. In the department store, he meets Scaramouche, who is a former rebel and has all the ambition that Galileo lacks. They are both inspired by a dream of a place called ” Liberty Facebook”, where people are free to express themselves through music. With the help of Killer Queen and her faithful followers, they travel to this magical place and discover that they are destined to save rock and roll from the evil Globalsoft Corporation.
The Audience
The audience is asked to participate in the show by clapping, singing, and standing up during certain songs.
