Nirvana

Nirvana went through a succession of drummers, the longest-lasting being Dave Grohl, who joined the band in 1990. Though the band dissolved in 1994 after the death of Cobain, their music maintains a popular following and continues to influence modern rock and roll culture.
Pearl Jam
Pearl Jam is an American rock band that formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1990. The band’s lineup currently consists of founding members Jeff Ament (bass guitar), Stone Gossard (rhythm guitar), Mike McCready (lead guitar), and Eddie Vedder (lead vocals). Since its inception, the band’s many lineup changes have included drummer Matt Cameron, who joined in 1998.
The band rose to prominence with its debut album, Ten, which featured the hits “Alive”, “Even Flow”, and “Jeremy”. Pearl Jam was one of the key groups of the grunge movement of the early 1990s. Since then, the band has released nine more studio albums and three live albums. Two of these – Vs. (1993) and Vitalogy (1994) – reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart. In 2016, a Rolling Stone readers poll voted Pearl Jam as having the greatest fans in music history.
Soundgarden
Soundgarden was one of the defining bands of the grunge movement in the early 1990s, and their sound was hugely influential on the genre. The band’s back catalog includes some of grunge’s most essential albums, like ‘Badmotorfinger’ and ‘Superunknown,’ as well as Nirvana’s ‘In Utero.’

Since its inception, the band has produced five studio albums, three live albums, four compilations, one soundtrack album, three video albums, thirty-three singles and sixty-two music videos.
The band became one of the key groups in the grunge movement of the early 1990s. Following a lengthy hiatus after the release of their sixth studio album, Yield (1998), Pearl Jam released their seventh album in 2006; it was its first album for J Records which resulted from a dispute with their previous label Epic Records. The band continued to grow with the release of their eighth studio album Backspacer (2009); it produced its first US number-one single—just like each of the band’s previous studio albums had—and became their fifth consecutive internationally chart-topping album.
Over the course of the band’s career, they have sold over 31 million records in the United States and an estimated 60 million worldwide minerals—making them one of the world’s best-selling bands of all time—and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 7, 2017
Soundgarden
Grunge is an important part of music history. It’s a subgenre of alternative rock that emerged in the mid-1980s in the Pacific Northwest U.S. state of Washington, particularly in Seattle. Grunge music is typically characterized by heavy guitar riffs, angsty lyrics, and a DIY aesthetic.
Nirvana is one of the most well-known grunge bands. Formed in 1987, the band rose to fame with their 1991 album Nevermind, which features the hit single “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Nirvana’s frontman Kurt Cobain was a major figure in the grunge scene and his tragic death in 1994 brought an end to the band.
Other notable grunge bands include Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden. Soundgarden was formed in 1984 and released their debut album Ultramega OK in 1988. The band’s fourth album, Superunknown, was a commercial success and won two Grammy Awards. Soundgarden disbanded in 1997 but reunited in 2010 and released their seventh studio album King Animal in 2012.
