Metallica- “Enter Sandman”
YouTube Videos: The Best of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. “Enter Sandman” is a song by American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released as the first single from their self-titled fifth album, Metallica in 1991. The music was written by Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. Vocalist Hetfield wrote the lyrics, which deal with the concept of a child’s nightmares. The single achieved gold certification in the United States for sales in excess of 500,000 copies. By February 2016, it had sold over 11 million copies worldwide, making it one of the band’s best-selling singles damage, Kirk Hammett played a Gibson Flying V guitar.
Slayer- “Raining Blood”
Slayer is an American thrash metal band from Huntington Park, California. The band was formed in 1981 by vocalist/bassist Tom Araya and guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman. Slayer’s fast and aggressive musical style made them one of the founding “big four” bands of thrash metal, alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax.
Slayer’s final lineup comprised King, Araya, drummer Paul Bostaph and guitarist Gary Holt. Hanneman and drummers Dave Lombardo and Jon Dette are former members of the band. Lombardo, who performed on several Slayer albums between 1984 to 2013, including Reign in Blood (1986) and South of Heaven (1988), returned to Slayer in 2013 for their reunion tour before again leaving in 2019 due to his highly publicized dispute with King.
“Raining Blood” is a song by American thrash metal band Slayer. It was released as the lead single from their 1986 album Reign in Blood on September 19, 1986 through Geffen Records.The song is Slayer’s best known composition; MTV ranked it No. 4 among the “Top 100 Metal Songs” list that they compiled in 2006….
Megadeth- “Symphony of Destruction”
Released in 1992, “Symphony of Destruction” is one of Megadeth’s most popular and well-known songs. The lyrics were written by Dave Mustaine in response to the Gulf War and the resulting increase in military spending. The song was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 1993.

The song begins with a simple, driving guitar riff that builds in intensity as the drums and bass come in. Then, suddenly, all hell breaks loose as Axl Rose’s screeching vocals come in over Slash’s searing guitar solo. It’s an unforgettable song that perfectly encapsulates everything that made Guns N’ Roses one of the greatest hard rock bands of all time.
AC/DC- “Back in Black”
This song was released in 1980 on the album of the same name. It is one of the best-selling albums of all time and the second-highest selling album by a band behind only The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” “Back in Black” was written as a tribute to original AC/DC singer Bon Scott, who had died six months prior. It is one of the most popular and well-known songs in rock history.
Led Zeppelin- “Stairway to Heaven”
There are few hard rock bands that have left as lasting a legacy as Led Zeppelin. Formed in 1968, the band quickly rose to prominence with their unrivaled blend of blues, folk and rock. “Stairway to Heaven” is perhaps their most well-known song, and for good reason. Featuring some of Jimmy Page’s most iconic guitar work, Robert Plant’s otherworldly vocals and John Bonham’s powerful drumming, the song is a true tour de force of hard rock.
