2016 was a great year for Reggae music. There were many new artists that emerged and many established artists released new music. The music videos below are some of the best that were released this year.

Chronixx – “Here Comes Trouble”

Chronixx debuted in 2010 with the song “Tell Me Now” and has been on an upward trajectory ever since. “Here Comes Trouble” is the lead single from his 2016 album Chronology and it’s one of the best reggae songs of the year. The video was shot in Jamaica and features Chronixx walking through his neighborhood, performing in front of a graffiti-covered wall, and surrounded by friends and family.

Protoje – “Who Knows”

Protoje’s “Who Knows” video was released in March of 2016 and has since amassed over 4 million views on YouTube. The visual tells the story of a day in the life of a young woman living in Jamaica. The video was shot in various locations across the island, including Protoje’s hometown of St. Elizabeth.

Kabaka Pyramid – “Can’t Breathe”

Chronixx & Koffee – “Legend”

Jamaican singer-songwriter and producer Chronixx teams up with rising star Koffee for the track “Legend.” The song, which was released in 2016, quickly became a viral sensation, with the music video garnering over 2 million views on YouTube.

The video features both Chronixx and Koffee paying tribute to Jamaican dancehall legend Vybz Kartel, who is currently incarcerated. The two artists are shown dancing and rapping in front of a mural of Kartel, as well as in a number of other locations around Kingston.
