Latin Pop Album of the Year

The Latin Pop Album of the Year is an award that was first presented at the 2nd Annual Billboard Latin Music Awards ceremony in 1995. It is given annually by Billboard magazine to a pop album released by a Latin artist. In 2009, the award was renamed to Pop Album of the Year and is now given to any album regardless of genre or language.

This award was presented for the first time at the 2nd Annual Billboard Latin Music Awards ceremony which took place on March 23, 1995. The ceremony was broadcast on Telemundo. At the time, only two awards were presented for Album of the Year in both pop and tropical genres. Afterwards, four award ceremonies were held every year until 2003 when eight award ceremonies were held annually.

From 2004 to 2010, this award was presented as Pop/Rock Album of the Year before reverting back to its original name in 2011. In 2012, however, it was once again renamed to Pop Album of the Year. As of 2021, there have been 27Latin Pop Albums of the Year winners with Enrique Iglesias and Laura Pausini being the most awarded artists in this category with three wins each.

Latin Rhythm Album of the Year

The Latin Rhythm Album of the Year is an award that was first presented by the American television network Univision at the inaugural Billboard Latin Music Awards ceremony in 1994. The award is given to recordings in the Latin rhythm genres, defined as a combination of danceable Latin music styles including salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaeton, hip hop, and R&B.

Since its inception, the award has been presented to 37 different artists or groups. Of these 37 winners, 20 are from Puerto Rico which has the most awards of any country followed by the United States with eight and Cuba with six. Puerto Rican artist Ricky Martin has won the most awards in this category with three. American duo Wisin & Yandel are the only group or duo to have won more than once as they have won twice consecutively. Cuban-American recording artist Gloria Estefan holds the record for most nominations with eleven.
