The Best of the Rest

It was a close tie between two albums this year, but in the end, we have to give it up to Radiohead’s ninth studio album, A Moon Shaped Pool. The English rockers’ first album in five years showcases their experimental side, with tracks like “Burn the Witch” and “Identikit” that veer away from their radio-friendly sound. But it’s the subtlety of songs like “Daydreaming” and “True Love Waits” that make this album a winner.

If you’re looking for something a little heavier, you can’t go wrong with Metallica’s Hardwired… to Self-Destruct. It’s been eight years since their last studio album, and this one was worth the wait. With thrash anthems like “Atlas, Rise!” and “Now That We’re Dead,” it will please both old-school fans and newcomers to the metal genre.

The Best of All Time

There are many different rock genres, but this list includes what we deem to be the best rock musicians of all time. This is not a definitive list, but rather a guide to help you find new music to explore.

The Beatles are often cited as the most influential band of all time. They started out as a pop group, but their later work incorporated elements of psychedelia and experimentalism. The Rolling Stones are another holdover from the British Invasion, and they helped define the sound of rock & roll. Led Zeppelin popularized the use of feedback and distortion, and they are often credited with creating heavy metal. Pink Floyd is one of the most successful and innovative progressive rock bands, known for their concept albums andPink Floyd liveindulgent concerts.

The Worst of the Year

The best of the worst. That’s what we’re counting down in this, our annual look back at the year’s most forgettable, unlistenable and just plain bad rock music. From painfully self-serious concept albums to heinously auto-tuned pop-metal, from return trips from long-gone alt-rock heroes to some of the least necessary reunions in recent memory, it was a banner year for truly awful rock music. Here, then, are the 20 worst offenders.

The Worst of All Time

In this article, we’ll be taking a look at what many consider to be the worst rock bands of all time. This is a highly subjective topic, of course, and what one person might deem as the worst music ever made, another might find hilarious or even enjoy. So, this is more for entertainment purposes than anything else. With that said, let’s get started.

As far as the worst rock bands of all time go, many people would put Nickelback at the top of the list. The Canadian group has been making music since 1995 and have released eight studio albums, all of which have been highly successful commercially. However, they are also one of the most derided bands in the world, with many people finding their music to be incredibly formulaic and uninspired.

Similarly, Creed is another band that is often cited as being amongst the worst in rock history. The American group formed in 1997 and released four albums before disbanding in 2004. They then reunited in 2009 and released a fifth album in 2009. Like Nickelback, they were highly successful commercially but were also met with a great deal of criticism for their music being unoriginal and unimaginative.

Another band that tends to crop up on lists of the worst rock bands ever is Limp Bizkit. The American nu metal group formed in 1994 and have released seven studio albums, the most recent being in 2005. They are widely despised by music critics but have nonetheless managed to sell millions of records worldwide.

So there you have it, three of the most reviled bands in rock history. Of course, there are many other groups that could easily have been included on this list but we wanted to keep it to just three for now.

“The latest release by this quartet of leather-clad also-rans is a real stinker, filled with turgid rhythms, plodding melodies, and lyrics that would make a 14-year-old metalhead cringe. Avoid at all cost.”

“We can’t figure out if this band is trying to be funny or just plain bad, but either way, they fail miserably. This album is proof positive that there are still some truly awful bands out there.”

“We can’t imagine how anyone could actually enjoy listening to this band’s music, which sounds like a cross between nails on a chalkboard and two cats fighting. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from these guys.”
