Latin American Music Awards
The Latin American Music Awards is an annual Latin music award show that recognizes the achievements and accomplishments of Latin artists in the United States. The show was first held in 2015, and is broadcast live on the Telemundo network. This year’s show was held on October 20, 2021, at the Forum in Inglewood, California.

The annual awards show, which celebrates the best in Latin music, is being held virtually for the second year in a row due to the coronavirus pandemic.
This year’s show will feature performances by some of the biggest names in Latin music, including Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Ozuna, Karol G, Anuel AA, Rosalía, Reykon and Manuel Turizo.

Best Contemporary Tropical Album
The Latin American Music Awards are back for another year, showcasing the best in Latin music from across the globe. This year’s winners have been announced, and we’ve got all the details on who took home the coveted prize for Best Contemporary Tropical Album.
This year, the award goes to Cuban singer-songwriter Camila Cabello for her album “Romance.” This is Cabello’s first Latin American Music Award, and she dedicated her win to her Cuban roots. “This award is so special to me because it represents my culture and my heritage,” she said in a statement. “I am so proud to be Cuban and I am so proud of my album ‘Romance.'”
Other nominees in the category included J Balvin, Ozuna, Ricky Martin, and Sebastian Yatra. Congratulations to Camila Cabello on her big win!

The 2021 Latin American Music Awards were held on Thursday (April 15) and broadcast live on Telemundo from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Shakira
Shakira is a Colombian singer, songwriter, dancer, and record producer. Born and raised in Barranquilla, she began performing in school, demonstrating Latin American, Arabic, and rock and roll influences and belly dancing abilities. Shakira released her first studio albums, Magia and Peligro, in the early 1990s. Her popularity paralleled the rise of Latin American pop music in European, North American, and Asian markets. By the mid-2000s, Shakira had achieved commercial success with general English-speaking audiences with songs such as “Whenever, Wherever”, “Underneath Your Clothes”, and “La Tortura”.
Ricky Martin
Ricky Martin took home the Artist of the Year award at the 2021 Latin American Music Awards. The Puerto Rican singer was also nominated for Album of the Year for his latest release, A Quien Quiera Escuchar. Martin has been a force in the Latin music scene since his debut album, Ricky Martin, was released in 1991. He is best known for his hits “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” “She Bangs” and “La Copa de la Vida.”

“La Bicicleta”
“La Bicicleta” is a song by Colombian singers Shakira and Carlos Vives. It was released on May 27, 2016, as the lead single from Vives’ fifteenth studio album, Al Filo de tu Amor (2017). The song won Song of the Year and Record of the Year at the 18th Latin Grammy Awards.
“Chantaje”
“Chantaje” is a song recorded by Colombian singer Shakira featuring Maluma. It was released on 16 October 2016, by Sony Music Latin as the lead single from Shakira’s eleventh studio album El Dorado (2017). The artists co-wrote the track with its producers Sky and Mosty, with additional writing from Camilo Echeverry. It is a reggaeton and trap song that contains sexually explicit lyrics and features both singers delivering “raunchy” vocals.
The song won the Latin Grammy Award for Song of the Year at the 18th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, and was nominated for Record of the Year at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards. It also won three Billboard Latin Music Awards, including Song of the Year, as well as three Latin American Music Awards.”
“Despacito”
“Despacito” is a song by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi featuring Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee from Fonsi’s upcoming studio album. The song was released on January 13, 2017, and was available for digital download and streaming on various platforms. “Despacito” became a massive global hit, reaching number one in 44 countries and becoming the first song to be streamed four billion times on Spotify. It also became the most streamed song of all time, as well as the Latin song with the most weeks at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Latin American Music Awards ceremony was held on Thursday evening (April 15) at the Dick Clark Productions Stage in Universal City, California to recognize the most popular albums, songs, and performers in Latin music. This is the sixth year in a row that the show has been held at the venue. The show was hosted by Becky G and featured performances by some of the biggest names in the Latin music industry, including Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Ozuna, and Karol G.
“Vives”
Vives was a big winner at the 2021 Latin American Music Awards, taking home five trophies.
The album won awards for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Male Artist and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
The album’s first single, “La Bicicleta,” won two Latin Grammy Awards and was a major hit in both Latin America and the United States.
“El Dorado”
If you’re in the market for a new Latin pop album, you might want to check out “El Dorado” by Shakira. The album, which was released in May of 2017, won the Latin Grammy Award for Album of the Year at the 18th annual Latin Grammy Awards.
Shakira is a Colombian singer, songwriter, and dancer who emerged in the music scene of Colombia and Latin America in the early 1990s. She has since achieved worldwide fame, selling over 75 million records and receiving numerous awards, including five MTV Video Music Awards, two Grammy Awards, eight Latin Grammy Awards, and thirty-six Billboard Latin Music Awards.
“El Dorado” is Shakira’s eleventh studio album and features Spanish-language versions of her previous hits “Can’t Remember to Forget You” and “La La La (Brazil 2014)”. The album received critical acclaim from music critics, with many praising Shakira’s songwriting and vocal performance. At the 18th Latin Grammy Awards, “El Dorado” won Album of the Year, making Shakira the first woman to win the award twice.
“Amarantine”
Amarantine is the sixth studio album by Irish singer, songwriter and musician Enya, released on 21 November 2005 by Warner Music internationally and a day later by Reprise Records in the United States. It marks Enya’s first album of new material in five years, following her commercially successful fifth studio album, A Day Without Rain (2000). The majority of Amarantine was written and produced by Enya and her longtime collaborators and arrangers, Nicky Ryan and Roma Ryan.
Enya commenced recording Amarantine in February 2003 at Aigle Studio, a converted barn near her home in Killiney, County Dublin, Ireland. Horner had asked Enya to contribute a song to the film; consequently, she wrote “May It Be”, which became the film’s theme song and earned Enya critical acclaim as well as an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. Following its release as a single in November 2001—her first new material since “Only Time” (2000)—Enya began work on a new album; according to Nicky Ryan, it took “a lot of coaxing… to persuade [Enya] that people might actually want another record”.
The recording sessions were characterised by creativity and experimentation; intent on pursuing new musical directions, Enya experimented with various instruments and sounds during the production process. Incorporating elements of classical music, pop music and world music, Amarantine features severalmusical genres including downtempo, trip hop and electronica. Its lyrics are principally in English with words borrowed from several languages including French (“A Moment Lost”); Welsh (“Long Long Journey”); Japaneserishfulness”)and Czech (“If I Could Be Where You Are”). Several of the tracks include acoustic guitars laced with synthesised landscapes to create an ethereal sound. Lyrically, Amarantine reflects upon themes of love that have been prevalent throughout Enya’s previous work; however unlike her past albums which concentrated upon personal relationships between two lovers or friends), this album focuses instead upon love for humanityand its fragilityin relation to broader global issues such as climate changeand terrorism.
