“Una Noche” by Wisin & Yandel

“Una Noche” is a song recorded by Puerto Rican duo Wisin & Yandel for their fifth studio album, Los Vaqueros (2007). The track was written by the duo, whileProduction and mixing were handled by Nesty and Tainy. A Spanish-language song with influences of reggaeton and bachata music, “Una Noche” contains an interpolation of the 1990 reggae hit “Sweat (A La La La La Long)” by Inner Circle in its chorus. Lyrically, it is about sexual intercourse.

Upon its release, “Una Noche” was met with positive reviews from music critics. Commercially, the track peaked at number one on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart in the United States and the Dominican Republic, as well as within the top five in Spain and Venezuela. Additionally, it attained moderate success in Belgium, reaching number 37 on the Ultratop 50 Flanders chart. The accompanying music video for “Una Noche” was shot in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles and directed by Jessy Terrero. It features Wisin & Yandel witnessing different parties that are going on in Hollywood Hills residences while they wait for two women (portrayed by American actresses Lisa Raye McCoy and Lauren London) to allow them into one of the houses.

“No Te Vayas” by Flex was the #1 Latin music hit of 2007. The song spent 19 weeks on the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart, more than any other song that year.

“La Tortura” by Shakira featuring Alejandro Sanz

“La Tortura” (The Torture) is a Latin pop song recorded by Colombian singer Shakira for her seventh studio album, Fijación Oral, Vol. 1 (2005). It was released on 29 March 2005, by Epic Records as the second single from the album. The song features Spanish singer-songwriter Alejandro Sanz and was written and produced by Shakira and Luis Fonsi. A Spanglish version of the song entitled “La TorturaShakira” features Shakira singing the chorus in English followed by Alejandro Sanz singing the remainder of the verses in Spanish.

In 2008, “La Tortura” was ranked at number thirty-four on Blender’s “The 100 Greatest Songs Since You Were Born”. In 2010, Rolling Stone magazine placed it on their “100 Best Songs of the Decade” list at number seventy-five. In January 2007, it became the longest running single at number one on Billboard Latin Pop Airplay with sixteen weeks straight. As of July 2014, it has sold more than 2 million copies in the US alone.

“Déjame Entrar” by Carlos Baute was the number one Latin music hit of 2007. The song spent nine weeks at the top of the Latin music charts and was also a top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “Déjame Entrar” was Carlos Baute’s only top ten hit on the Hot 100 chart.

“Me Enamora” by Juanes

“Me Enamora” is a song recorded by Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes for his fourth studio album, La Vida… Es un Ratico (2007). It was released as the lead single from the album on September 25, 2007. The song peaked at number one on Billboard’s Latin Songs chart for one week in December 2007 and won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock, Alternative or Urban Album at the 2008 Grammy Awards.

“A Dios Le Pido” by Juanes

“A Dios Le Pido” is a single by Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes. It was released in 2002 as the first single from his second studio album, Un Dia Normal. The song became a worldwide hit, topping the charts in several countries including Colombia, France, Italy, Mexico, Portugal and Spain. The song won Juanes the Latin Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance at the 2003 Latin Grammys.

“Tu Recuerdo” by Ricky Martin featuring La Mari of Chambao

“Tu Recuerdo” is a song recorded by Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin and featuring vocals by Spanish singer La Mari of the band Chambao. It was released as the third single from Martin’s album Life on June 19, 2007. The song peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart in the United States and at number one in Spain.

“Noche de Entierro” by Daddy Yankee

“Noche de Entierro” is a reggaeton song by Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee. It was released in 2007 as the fourth single from his album El Cartel: The Big Boss. The song peaked at number one on the Billboard Latin Rhythm Airplay chart and number nine on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart.

“La Gasolina” is a reggaeton song recorded by Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Daddy Yankee. It was released in May 2004 as the lead single from his second studio album Barrio Fino (2004). The song was written by Daddy Yankee and Ángel Luis Rivera, and produced by Luny Tunes.

The song became a global hit, topping the charts in many countries including the United States, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, France, Guatemala, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Spain and Venezuela. In the United States, it peaked at number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at number one on the Hot Latin Songs chart for 19 consecutive weeks. Internationally, “La Gasolina” peaked in the top ten in several countries including Australia, Belgium (Flanders), Canada and New Zealand.

In 2007, “La Gasolina” was ranked at number ten on Billboard’s list of 100 Songs of the Year.
