We all know that metalheads love their music videos. So, we’ve compiled a list of the top 5 heavy metal music videos of all time. From classic videos like Metallica’s “One” to more modern ones like Slipknot’s “Psychosocial”, these videos are sure to get your head banging.

Metallica- “One”

“One” is a song by American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released as the third and final single from their fourth studio album, …And Justice for All (1988). Written by band members James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, “One” is an anti-war song that portrays a WWI soldier who is severely wounded— arms, legs, and eyes all destroyed by a landmine— begging God to take his life. As he lies dying, flashbacks of his life, happy moments with friends and family, are juxtaposed with his suffering.

Pantera- “Cowboys from Hell”

This classic Pantera video is the perfect example of early 90s metal. It features the band playing in a gritty, industrial setting, with plenty of fire and smoke. The video also includes some gore and violence, which was typical of the genre at the time. If you’re a fan of metal, this is a must-watch.

Megadeth- “Symphony of Destruction”

Megadeth’s “Symphony of Destruction” was released in 1992 as the lead single from the album Countdown to Extinction. The song peaked at #2 on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and #11 on the UK Singles Chart. The music video for the song, directed by Wan Kim, features live performances intercut with footage of a city being destroyed.

Megadeth is an American heavy metal band formed in 1983 by guitarist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson. The band has since released 15 studio albums, and earned five Grammy nominations. “Symphony of Destruction” is one of Megadeth’s best-known and most popular songs.

Slayer- “Raining Blood”

From the 1986 record Reign in Blood, this song is iconic not only in metal but in music history. The RIAA certified the album double platinum in 2004, and it is considered by many to be one of the best metal albums of all time. “Raining Blood” is the perfect example of Slayer’s signature chaotic sound, and the music video is a perfect visual accompaniment. Featuring stop-motion animation mixed with real footage, the video tells the story of a world being overrun by a dark force, culminating in a bloody war. It’s brutal, it’s graphic, and it’s one of the best metal videos ever made.

Metallica- “Enter Sandman”

Enter Sandman by Metallica is often cited as one of the best heavy metal music videos of all time. The video was directed by Wayne Isham and features a mix of live action and animation. The live action scenes were filmed in an old abandoned warehouse, while the animated scenes were inspired by the work of Dr. Seuss.

The video tells the story of a young boy who is having nightmares about a monster called the Sandman. The boy’s father tries to comfort him, but the Sandman still comes for him. In the end, the boy is able to defeat the Sandman by using his imagination.

The video was a huge success, and it helped to make Metallica one of the most popular heavy metal bands in the world. It also won several awards, including MTV’s Video of the Year award in 1992.
