History
Nu metal (also known as nü-metal[1] and aggro-metal[2]) is a subgenre of heavy metal music that combines elements from heavy metal with elements from other music genres such as hip hop, alternative rock, funk, industrial, and grunge. Nu metal bands have drawn elements and influences from a variety of musical styles, including multiple subgenres of heavy metal.[3][4] Nu metal rarely features guitar solos; the genre is heavily syncopated and based on guitar riffs. Many nu metal guitarists use seven-string guitars that are down-tuned to enhance the low end of their sound.[5][6] DJs are occasionally featured in nu metal to provide instrumentation such as sampling, turntable scratching and electronic backgrounds. Vocal styles in nu metal include singing, rap metal-style rapping, screaming and death growls.
Formation
333 was formed in 2015 by lead vocalist and guitarist Andy Price, bassist Nate Webb, and drummer Rollie Ulug. The trio had all been friends and members of the Los Angeles music scene for years before coming together to form 333. Price and Ulug had previously played together in the hardcore punk band Wives, while Webb was a touring member of the indie rock band We AreScientists.
