Introduction

Music and coffee have always gone hand-in-hand. The two traditions have been intertwined for centuries, and there’s no better place to enjoy them both than at a local coffee house. Here are four great places in the jazz capital of the world – New Orleans – to get your caffeine fix and enjoy some live music.

Beignets and Blues
Located in the heart of the French Quarter, Beignets and Blues is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The coffee house is known for its traditional beignets, but it also has a great selection of coffees and teas. The real draw, though, is the live music. Beignets and Blues has live jazz 7 days a week, with a variety of local artists performing.

Cafe du Monde
Cafe du Monde is one of the most iconic spots in New Orleans, famous for its 24-hour beignet stand. But Cafe du Monde is more than just beignets – it’s also one of the best places in the city to listen to live jazz. While there’s no cover charge, the cafe does have a one drink minimum per person. Cafe du Monde is located right on Jackson Square, so you can enjoy your coffee and music with a view of some of New Orleans’ most famous landmarks.

The Spotted Cat Music Club
The Spotted Cat Music Club is located in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood, just a few blocks from the French Quarter. The club has a relaxed atmosphere, making it a great place to unwind with a cup of coffee after exploring the city all day. The Spotted Cat features live jazz 7 days a week, with no cover charge or drink minimum.

Preservation Hall
Preservation Hall is one of New Orleans’ most revered musical institutions. The hall was founded in 1961 with the mission of preserving traditional New Orleans Jazz. Today, it’s widely considered one of the best places in the world to hear this type of music. Admission to Preservation Hall is by ticket only, but there’s no need to spend money on a ticket if you just want to enjoy some good coffee – there’s a cafe next door that serves up both roasted beans and live music every day.

The Daily Grind

The Daily Grind is a local coffee house that has been serving the community for over 10 years. They offer a variety of coffees and teas, as well as pastries and sandwiches. The Daily Grind also hosts live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
