It’s hard to believe that 2009 is already coming to a close. But as the year comes to an end, we wanted to take a look back at some of the best electronic music songs that came out this year. From catchy club anthems to emotive ballads, these are the tracks that we’ll be remember 2009 by.

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been ten years since the release of some of the best electronic music songs of 2009. We’ve compiled a list of the top songs of the year, so you can relive the good times (or discover new music).

“Alive” – Daft Punk

This song is the lead single from Daft Punk’s fourth album, “Random Access Memories.” The single was released on April 19, 2013. The song features vocals from Paul Williams, and it peaked at number One on the Hot 100 chart.

“I Remember” – Deadmau5

“I Remember” is a song produced by Canadian electronic music producer deadmau5, with vocals by Kaskade. The song was released as the lead single from deadmau5’s fifth studio album, For Lack of a Better Name, on September 15, 2009. The song is credited as being the first ever collaboration between the two artists.

The song features a slow, sentimental melody and lyrics written by Kaskade about a past relationship. “I Remember” was very successful, peaking at #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart and becoming one of the most iconic songs of 2009.

“Walking on a Dream” – Empire of the Sun

We start our list with a feel-good song that’s perfect for any occasion. “Walking on a Dream” by Australian electronic duo Empire of the Sun is an instant classic, with its infectious melody and optimistic lyrics. “Random Access Memories” – Daft Punk

Daft Punk’s “Random Access Memories” was one of the best electronic music albums of 2009. The album was a critical and commercial success, debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200 and selling over two million copies in the United States.

“4×4=12” – Deadmau5

“4×4=12” is the third studio album by Canadian electronic music producer Deadmau5, released on December 6, 2010 by Ultra Records and Mau5trap. It charted in five countries and received a nomination for Best Dance/Electronica Album at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards.

The album was preceded by the singles “Some Chords”, “Animal Rights”, “SOFI Needs a Ladder” and “Raise Your Weapon”, which were all released in 2010. The album features a variety of genres within the electronic dance music realm, including progressive house, glitch hop and dubstep.

Critical reception to “4×4=12” was positive, with many critics calling it one of the best albums of 2010. Deadmau5 toured internationally in support of the album in 2011 with his fellow mau5trap artists Feed Me and Kaskade.

“In Ghost Colors” – Cut Copy

Cut Copy’s “In Ghost Colors” was one of the best albums of 2009. The Australian band’s second album is chock full of catchy, danceable tunes that are perfect for any party.
