This list collects together the best new electronic music of 2015, as voted on by Beatport’s team of global curators. The list includes tracks and albums across a wide range of genres, from techno, house and minimal to nu-disco, tech-house and more.

Best New Artist

There was no shortage of great new music in 2015, but some artists stood out above the rest. Here are our picks for the best new artists of the year.

1. SOPHIE

SOPHIE is a producer and DJ from Scotland who had a breakout year in 2015 with her unique brand of avant-garde pop music. She released a string of well-received singles, most notably “Bipp” and “Lemonade,” and also collaborated with PC Music labelmates A. G. Cook and Charlie XCX on the song “Vroom Vroom.” She also produced tracks for BEYONCÉ and Madonna’s new albums. SOPHIE is one of the most exciting and innovative artists working in electronic music today, and we can’t wait to see what she does next.

2. Mura Masa

Mura Masa is a 19-year-old producer from Guernsey, an island off the coast of England, who has been turning heads with his inventive blend of R&B, hip hop, and electronic music. He first gained attention with his track “Lovesick,” which features vocals from rising R&B star A$AP Rocky, and went on to release a string of other great tracks, including “What If I Go?” featuring Bonzai, “Firefly,” and “Love$ick.” Mura Masa’s self-titled debut EP was released in July 2015 and he has already been tapped to produce tracks for DNCE and ASAP Rocky’s upcoming albums. We expect big things from Mura Masa in the future.

3. Purity Ring

Purity Ring is a Canadian electropop duo composed of singer Megan James and producer Corin Roddick. The duo first came to prominence with their 2012 debut album Shrines, which featured the singles “Fineshrine” and “Belispeak.” In 2015, Purity Ring returned with their sophomore album Another Eternity, which included the singles “Bodyache” and “Begin Again.” Purity Ring’s ethereal synthpop sound is uniquely captivating, and we can’t get enough of it.

“Best New Track” is a song by English electronic music duo Disclosure. The song was released as a single on 8 June 2015, through Island Records. The song peaked at number 22 on the UK Singles Chart.
