History

Dipset (The Diplomats) is an American hip hop group founded in 1997 by childhood friends Cam’ron and Jim Jones in Harlem, New York. The original members of the group were Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Freekey Zekey, and Juelz Santana. The group signed to Damon Dash’s Roc-A-Fella Records in 2001 and released their first album, Diplomatic Immunity, in February 2003. The album features the hit singles “I Really Mean It” and “Hey Ma”.

Dipset was originally formed in 1997 by Childhood friends Cam’ron & Jim Jones Both originally from Harlem NY. They recruited fellow childhood friends Freekey Zekey & Juelz Santana. The group was then signed to Damon Dash’s Roc-A-Fella Records in early 2001 & went on to release their 1st album “Diplomatic Immunity” in February 2003. The album was a huge success for the group spawning the classic hits “I Really Mean It” & “Hey Ma”.
