Mike McCready would later join the project as lead guitarist, and the quintet recorded their self-titled debut album in just two weeks.
Released in April 1991, Temple of the Dog featured the hit single “Hunger Strike”, which reached number four on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA in 1992 and has since been certified double-platinum.
