Kurt Carr
Carr is an American gospel singer, songwriter, record producer, and musician. He has been a staple in the black gospel music community for over two decades. He started his musical career as a keyboardist for the Mount Lebanon Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York. He later joined forces with fellow Brooklynites Rodney and Fred McFadden to form the McFadden Brothers Band. The group enjoyed moderate success in the early 1990s with their debut album, “Get Ready”, which spawned the hits “Can’t Nobody Do Me Like Jesus” and “Good Time”.
In 1996, Carr embarked on a solo career with the release of his album “For Every Mountain”. The album’s title track became a runaway hit, topping both the Gospel and R&B charts. Carr’s follow-up album, “Purpose In Your Storm”, was equally successful, spawning the hits “No One Else”, “I Almost Let Go”, and “Kneel Down”. Since then, Carr has released six more albums and has become one of the most popular and respected figures in black gospel music.
In 2016, Carr was inducted into the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame. He is also a five-time Grammy Award nominee and two-time Stellar Award winner. His YouTube channel features live performances, music videos, and behind-the-scenes footage of Carr and his band.
