Jekalyn Carr- You’re Bigger
One of the most promising new voices in Gospel music releases her debut album this year. Jekalyn Carr’s “You’re Bigger” is a 12-track set that includes the title track, which is currently climbing the radio charts. Raised in South Memphis, TN, Carr is a graduate of LeMoyne Owens College and has a degree in Mass Communications. She has been singing since she was 3 years old and is the founder of the youth evangelistic organization, Luminous Flux Productions.
Tasha Cobbs- One Place Live
Tasha Cobbs’s album,One Place Live, is a compilation of live recordings of some of her most popular songs. The album was recorded during a live performance at the Passion City Church in Atlanta, Georgia. One Place Live was released on August 7, 2015, and features thirteen tracks. Some of the songs included on the album are “Break Every Chain,” “For Your Glory,” and “I’m Getting Ready.”
Smokie Norful- No Limit
Norful’s musical style is mostly contemporary urban gospel and he often incorporates elements of modern pop music into his recordings. He has won numerous awards, including a Grammy Award, BET Award, N.A.A.C.P Image Award, eight Stellar Awards, two Dove Awards, three Brio Awards and a Soul Train Music Award. In October 2006, Norful was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame as a part of the class of 2006.

All in all, it was a great year for Gospel music. We saw a lot of new artists making their mark on the industry, and we saw some of our favorite artists continuing to produce great music. We can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for us!
