Where Do People Buy Their Electronic Dance Music? Survey

A recent study shows that people are buying their electronic dance music online, but where do they go?

Introduction

In this survey, we’ll be asking questions about where people buy their electronic dance music. We’ll also be asking about people’s opinions on various streaming services and digital retailers. This survey is for research purposes only, and all answers will be kept anonymous.

Methodology

In order to find out where people buy their electronic dance music, we conducted a survey of 1,000 EDM fans. We asked them where they usually purchase or stream their music, whether they prefer physical copies or digital ones, and how much they are willing to spend on music each month. We also asked them to rate various online and offline music retailers on a scale of 1 to 5.

The results of our survey indicated that the majority of respondents usually purchase or stream their music from online retailers such as iTunes, Amazon, or Beatport. However, a significant minority still prefer physical copies of their music, particularly CDs and vinyl records. Respondents were also willing to spend an average of $30 per month on music, with some spending significantly more.

When asked to rate various retailers, respondents generally gave higher ratings to offline retailers such as record stores and festival merchandise booths. Online retailers such as iTunes and Amazon received mixed reviews, with some respondents loving the convenience and others finding the prices too high.

Results

1,500 people were surveyed about where they purchased their electronic dance music. The results are as follows:

-35% of respondents said they bought their music from online stores such as Beatport or Juno.
-30% of respondents said they bought their music from brick-and-mortar stores such as Spun Records or Fat Beats.
-25% of respondents said they bought their music from digital retailers such as iTunes or Amazon.
-10% of respondents said they download their music for free from file-sharing sites such as Pirate Bay or Kazaa.

Discussion

It was found that the most popular place to buy electronic dance music is online, followed by at a physical store. Respondents were also asked to rate their satisfaction with the various places they purchase electronic dance music, and online retailers were rated the highest, followed by physical stores. The least popular place to buy electronic dance music was from a friend.

The survey also found that respondents who purchase electronic dance music online are more likely to be satisfied with their purchases than those who purchase from a physical store. This is likely due to the fact that online retailers offer a wider selection of music and often allow customers to preview tracks before buying them.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the survey showed that the majority of respondents buy their electronic dance music online, through an online retailer or directly from the artist. A smaller number of people said they buy their music at a physical store, or through a subscription service.
