The station originally signed on in 1968 as WBCC, a 10-watt student-run station staffed by Bucks County Community College students. In 1976, the station increased its power to 3,000 watts and changed its call letters to WRDV; the following year, it began airing an adult album alternative format. In 1996, the station ceased broadcasting from the college’s campus and relocated to its current studios in Newtown.
