Cedric Diggory was a Hufflepuff student two years above Harry Potter at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He was the Seeker of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team and captain of the Hogwarts Gobstones team. Cedric was chosen by Albus Dumbledore to compete in the Triwizard Tournament, representing Hogwarts. He died as a result of Voldemort’s plan to have Harry Potter killed during the tournament’s final task.
