“Boom Boom Pow” is a song by American group The Black Eyed Peas released as the lead single from their fifth studio album, The E.N.D. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100, making it the group’s first US number one single since “My Humps” in 2005, and second overall. It became their second worldwide hit after their previous single “I Gotta Feeling” reached number one in 18 countries.

“I Gotta Feeling” is a song performed by American hip hop group The Black Eyed Peas, taken from their fifth studio album The E.N.D. (2009). The song was written by Allan Pineda, George Pajon, Printz Board, Jaime Gomez and David Guetta, and produced by Guetta, Pajon, and will.i.am.
The song was released on May 21, 2009 as the fourth single from The E.N.D., following “Boom Boom Pow” and “Rock That Body”. “I Gotta Feeling” became the seventh single to top the Billboard Hot 100 in 2009; it topped the chart for 14 consecutive weeks, making it tied with Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name” as the second longest-running number one of the year behind Ne-Yo’s “Miss Independent”, which spent 19 weeks at number one.”I Gotta Feeling” spent 43 weeks on Hot Digital Songs before eventually peaking at number one for six weeks in February 2010, giving the group their first digital chart-topper as lead artists. “Poker Face” – Lady Gaga
“Poker Face” is a song by American singer-songwriter Lady Gaga, from her debut studio album, The Fame (2008). It was released on September 26, 2008 as the album’s second single. “Poker Face” is a synth-pop song in the key of G♯ minor, following in the footsteps of her previous single “Just Dance”, but with a darker musical tone. The main idea behind the song is bisexuality and was a tribute by Gaga to her rock and roll boyfriends. Lyrically, it possesses a pop culture reference to chatroulette.
“Just Dance” – Lady Gaga
“Just Dance” is a song recorded by American singer Lady Gaga for her debut album, The Fame (2008). Gaga wrote the song with Akon, whose vocals also appear on the track, while RedOne produced it. The track was released as the album’s lead single on April 8, 2009. It is an up-tempo synth-pop dance song in the key of G major, with a chorus 47 seconds in length. “Just Dance” talks about being intoxicated at a club and how Gaga is refusing any guy who tries to hit on her. The song received positive reviews from critics, who praised its club-friendly nature and praised Gaga’s confidence while singing it. “Just Dance” peaked in the top ten of several countries including Austria, Australia, Canada and Germany – where it reached number one – as well as reaching number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart; thus becoming Gaga’s first mainstream single to do so. The single earned platinum certifications in Australia and Italy, as well as earning double-platinum certification in the United States from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
An accompanying music video for “Just Dance” was directed by Melina Matsoukas and released on April 14, 2009. It stars American choreographer High Society and shows them performing a choreographed routine to the song around various locations such as an abandoned warehouse and an empty parking lot. The video reached number one on MuchMusic’s Countdown chart. “Just Dance” has been credited with not only helping launch Gaga’s career but also being responsible for introducing electronic dance music (EDM) into mainstream popular music in general.

“Tik Tok” is a song by American singer Kesha. It was released as the lead single from her debut studio album, Animal, on August 7, 2009. The song was written by Kesha, Pebe Sebert, and Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald. It was produced by Gottwald and Benny Blanco. musically, “Tik Tok” is an electro-pop and dance-pop song that uses a minimalist approach to its production; the song’s instrumentation consists primarily of synthesizers, drum machine, and percussion instruments such as tambourine. Lyrically, it speaks of partying and getting close to someone at a club.
The song achieved commercial success by topping the charts in eleven countries worldwide; in the United States it spent nine weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it both Kesha’s first number one in the country as well as Dr. Luke’s fifth consecutive chart-topper on that chart since 2007.”Tik Tok” remains Kesha’s biggest hit single worldwide to date.
“Party in the U.S.A.” – Miley Cyrus
“Party in the U.S.A.” is a song by American singer Miley Cyrus for her first extended play (EP) The Time of Our Lives (2009). It was released on August 11, 2009, by Hollywood Records as the lead single from the project. The song was written and produced by Jessi Alexander and Jon Mabe, with additional writing from Starr Gaither. “Party in the U.S.A.” is a pop song that lyrically resembles Cyrus’ earlier work while incorporating expensive electronic instrumentation. Its lyrics refer to dancing and having fun at popular American vacation spots and use icons from 1990s popular culture as metaphors for being rich and famous.
The accompanying music video for “Party in the U.S.A.”, directed by Chris Applebaum, depicts Cyrus going to a party at a beach house in Malibu, California while scenes of other young people are also shown enjoying themselves at various beaches around America. The video became popular on seasonal countdown shows and has been spoofed by several television comedy programs; it won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Pop Video at the 2010 ceremony.

Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” was one of the biggest hits of 2009, spending an incredible 76 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was a massive success all over the world, topping charts in dozens of countries and selling millions of copies.
“Hot n Cold” – Katy Perry
“Hot n Cold” is a song by American singer Katy Perry. The song was written by Perry, Dr. Luke and Max Martin and produced by Luke and Martin. It was released as the second single from Perry’s album One of the Boys (2008). The song peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Perry’s second consecutive top three single, following “I Kissed a Girl”. It also peaked at number one in Canada and Poland, as well as charting within the top ten in nine other countries. An accompanying music video, directed by Alan Ferguson, was released on October 28, 2008. The video had a close resemblance to Right Said Fred’s 1991 music video (I’m) Too Sexy although it has been stated that this was unintentional.

“Hot n Cold” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number eighty-seven on the week ending September 13, 2008. The song fell off the chart the following week but re-entered at number ninety-five on the week ending October 4. The song then reached its peak position of number three on the chart dated November 29, 2008, where it remained for two consecutive weeks before being replaced by Britney Spears’ “Womanizer”. As of February 2021, the song has sold 4.8 million copies in the United States.
In Canada, “Hot n Cold” debuted at number ninety-six on the Canadian Hot 100 on August 9, 2008. The following week it reached its peak position of number one making it Perry’s first number one single in Canada and her second consecutive top three single after “I Kissed a Girl”. In Poland “Hot n Cold” became Katy Perry’s first solo Number 1 hit after it topped Airplay Chart for five weeks straight between December 2008 and January 2009 according to Polish society of Phonographic Industry certification..
“Love Story” – Taylor Swift
Love Story is a song written and performed by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. The song was released on September 12, 2008 by Big Machine Records, as the lead single from Swift’s second studio album Fearless. Swift wrote the song about a love interest who was not popular among her family and friends. Because of the scenario, Love Story became one of the best-known songs about forbidden love. It has been used in movies such as The Lucky One, Valentine’s Day, and Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, and has been covered by artists such as Joey + Rory and Forever the Sickest Kids.
The music video for Love Story was directed by Trey Fanjoy. It was set in Verona Beach, California (a reference to Romeo and Juliet) and it telling the story of Swift’s character secretly meeting her love interest while her parents were due home soon. The video used in-picture framing to animate photos of Swift during critical moments in the song’s plot. Swifts character wears a long sleeve shirt with a heart locket that matches her prince’s; this is likely a play on Romeo & Juliet where at the end Romeo gives Juliet a poison with lace around it so she would look like she is sleeping when she dies beside him.
