The Moody Blues have been around since the early 60s and they are still going strong today. They have had many hits over the years, but they are also known for their philanthropy work.

The Moody Blues: A History

The Moody Blues are an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1964, initially consisting of keyboardist Michael Pinder, guitarist Denny Laine, flautist Ray Thomas, drummer Graeme Edge, and bassist Clint Warwick. The group came to prominence playing rhythm and blues music. They made some changes to their lineup and soon began experimenting with longer and more complex arrangements, incorporating classical elements into their music. By the end of the 1960s, they had released several successful singles and albums, including “Nights in White Satin”, which was one of the first hits to feature a classical-style crescendo.

The group was initially inactive for a few years in the early 1970s while members worked on solo projects, but they regrouped in 1974 and released a number of successful albums throughout the rest of the decade. The Moody Blues continued to tour and release music into the 21st century. Their most recent album, “Sur la Mer”, was released in 2018.
