The Winners of the 2020 Blues Music Awards were announced last night, and we’ve got the full list right here!

Best Album

This year’s best album goes to “Honey and Smoke” by Joe Bonamassa! This is Bonamassa’s 12th studio album and it features 12 original songs. This album is a must-listen for any fan of the blues.

Best Album – “The Preacher, The Teacher, The Politician”

The 2020 Blues Music Awards were held virtually on Thursday, October 1st. The awards ceremony, which is usually held in Memphis, Tennessee, was moved online this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year’s big winner was “The Preacher, The Teacher, The Politician”, an album by British blues singer-songwriter and guitarist Joanne Shaw Taylor. The album won three awards, including Best Album.

In her acceptance speech for the Best Album award, Taylor said, “I’m so honoured to have won this award. I want to thank the Blues Music Awards for recognising my album and for supporting blues music.”

“The Preacher, The Teacher, The Politician” was released in March 2020 and is Taylor’s sixth studio album. It features eleven original songs written by Taylor and was produced by Mike Zito.

Best Male Artist

It feels amazing! We are so honored to be recognized by such a prestigious organization. It’s been a dream of ours to play at the BMA’s, so to actually win an award is just incredible. We are truly humbled and grateful.
