Music Therapy

Creative Soul School of Music strives to be a place for everyone and offer music programs for all levels of students, interests, and needs. One music program we offer that may be lesser known is music therapy. According to the American Music Therapy Association, “music therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program.”

Music therapy can address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. It is an effective treatment for a wide range of populations including: Alzheimer’s and dementia, autism spectrum disorder, brain injury, mental health, physical rehabilitation, substance abuse recovery and more. Research has shown that music therapy can lower heart rate and blood pressure, release endorphins (feel good hormones), and reduce overall stress levels.

Our History

Creative Soul School of Music first opened its doors in 2012 in the heart of downtown Las Vegas. We offer music education for all levels, ages, and experience levels. We are proud to be the only music school in the area that offers lessons for all ages and all experience levels.

Our Founder

Creative Soul School of Music was founded by Tish Bean in 2000. Tish started playing the piano at 5 years old and went on to get her degree in Music Education from Northwestern State University. After college, she taught music in the public school system for several years before deciding to open her own music school.

Tish’s goal was to create a music school that was affordable and accessible to everyone. She also wanted to create a fun and supportive environment where students could learn and grow at their own pace.

Today, Creative Soul has grown into one of the largest music schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with 9 locations and over 60 teachers. We offer a wide range of classes and programs for all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced. We are proud to have helped thousands of students discover their love of music!

Our Location

We are located at 648 East Main Street, Suite B in Lexington, Kentucky. We are on the second floor of the Historic Odd Fellows building in the heart of downtown Lexington. We offer six studios for music lessons and practice, a comfortable waiting room for family and friends, and a conference room for teachers to meet with students and families.
