The nominees for the 2021 Soul Train Music Awards have been announced, and we’ve got the complete list!
Best New Artist
The nominees for the 2021 Soul Train Music Awards were announced on Tuesday (March 2), with Roddy Ricch, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, and Summer Walker leading the pack with six nominations each.
Other notable nominees include Lizzo, who received five nods, as well as Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Khalid, Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, and Doja Cat, who each earned four.
This year’s nominees were chosen by a panel of music experts and insiders from all genres of music. The awards will be handed out during a virtual ceremony set to air on BET on Sunday, April 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

The 2021 Soul Train Music Awards will take place on November 7, and the nominees for Album of the Year have been announced. The nominated albums are:

The Soul Train Music Award for Best Dance Performance is an award given at the Soul Train Music Awards. The award was first given out in 1987 and has been given out every year since.
This award is given to a song that has been released within the eligibility period and has shown outstanding Achievement in the field of Dance music.

Best Soul Train Certified Award
The Best Soul Train Certified Award is given to an artist or group who has given at least five years of great service to the music industry and who have achieved a significant level of success in the field. This award is meant to recognize those artists who have continued to produce great work and contribute to the music industry, even after achieving mainstream success.
Best International Performance
The nominees for the 2021 Soul Train Music Awards were announced on Wednesday (Sept. 9). Leading this year’s pack with six nods each are Summer Walker, Snoop Dogg, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch and Yola.
All five artists are nominated for the newly created Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award, which will be handed out at the 2021 Soul Train Music Awards. The honor is given to “a songwriter or songwriting team whose work exemplifies excellence in creativity, lyrical content, and melodic craftsmanship.”
Additionally, Walker is up for best new artist and best R&B/soul female artist, while Ricch is nominated for best R&B/soul male artist and album of the year (Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial). Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hot Girl Summer” collab with Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign is also up for song of the year.
