The album was certified Gold by the RIAA and received three Grammy nominations in 2008. She then played Celie in a Broadway production of The Color Purple for which she earned a Drama Desk Award nomination in 2007. Her third studio album Back to Me was released worldwide on August 24, 2010 and featured the single “Bittersweet” which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100. The single won her a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. As of 2014, Fantasia has sold 4 million albums and 2 million singles worldwide.
