The Chieftains
The Chieftains are a Grammy-winning Irish folk music group founded in Dublin in 1962, by Paddy Moloney, Sean Potts and Michael Tubridy. The Chieftains’ sound has been labeled as “Celtic” due to their vast repertoire which includes many Irish jigs and reels, although they have also been influenced by traditional Scottish and Cape Breton music. They have participated in many musical collaborations with prestigous artists such as Sting, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Bonnie Raitt, Ry Cooder and many more. In addition to their renowned recordings, the Chieftains have toured the world extensively, bringing their unique brand of Celtic music to enthusiastic audiences everywhere.
