The Academy of Country Music Awards are given out every year to country music artists in a variety of categories. One of the most prestigious awards is the Male Vocalist of the Year award. This award is given to the male country music artist who has delivered the best vocal performance over the past year.

About the Academy of Country Music Awards

The Academy of Country Music Awards are an annual awards show for the country music industry. The show was created in 1966 and is typically held in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show features live performances, as well as awards in various categories. The Male Vocalist of the Year category is one of the most prestigious awards at the show.

History

The Academy of Country Music was founded in 1964 in Los Angeles, California as a way to promote country music in the western United States. The first awards ceremony was held in 1966, and it has been held every year since. The awards are voted on by a panel of industry experts and are given out in a variety of categories, including male and female vocalist of the year, song of the year, and album of the year.

How the Awards Are Chosen

The Academy of Country Music Awards are voted on by secret ballot of academy members. Membership in the academy is by invitation and extended only to those people in the country music industry who have achieved professional success and have a proven commitment to the format.

The process begins with nominations in specific categories, which are then voted on by eligible academy members. For the final vote, academy members select their choices for Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Female Vocalist, Vocal Duo, and Vocal Group of the Year from a list of nominees compiled by the Academy’s directory board. Members also vote for New Artist of the Year and Album of the Year from a list of five nominees generated by a special awards committee.
