The American Music Award for Favorite Male Artist – Soul/R&B is an award presented annually at the American Music Awards (AMAs). The award was established in 1974, and was first presented to Marvin Gaye. Currently, the award goes to the artist who has delivered the best performance in the Soul/R&B genre.

The American Music Award for Favorite Male Artist – Soul/R&B is an award presented at the American Music Awards. It was first awarded in 1974. The winner is selected by the public.

The award was not presented in 1975. In 1979, it was awarded to disco artist Bee Gees. In 1990, 1990s hop artist MC Hammer won the award. He is the only winner who is not of African-American descent.

In 2001, the award was not presented due to the 9/11 attacks that occurred earlier that year. R&B singer Mary J. Blige won the award in 2002 and again in 2003. She is the only artist to have won this award more than once as of 2018. In 2004, the award was not presented due to Hurricane Katrina that occurred earlier that year.
