History

The Latin Grammy Awards are an annual awards ceremony that recognize excellence, create a greater awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally, and to honor professionals in the music industry.

The Latin Grammys were established in 2000 by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARA) and are produced by NARAS in association with Univision. The initial ceremonies were held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA.

Since its inception, the Latin Grammys have become one of the most prestigious music award shows in the world. They are Broadcast live on Univision annually and have been attended by some of the biggest names in music including Beyoncé, Shakira, Marc Anthony, Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, need I go on?

The Latin Grammys boast nearly 50 different award categories recognizing achievement across many different genres of Latin music including pop, rock, alternative, urban, regional Mexican, tropical, orchestral and more.

Process

· Best Female Pop Vocal Performance: This award recognizes a female pop vocalist who has released an outstanding pop vocal performance within the eligibility period.
