Introduction

Atomic – The New Rock Musical is a musical with a book by Danny Rubin, music by Brendan Milburn, and lyrics by Danny Rubin and Valerie Vigoda. It is loosely based on the true story of the world’s first self-sustaining nuclear chain reaction, which took place at the University of Chicago in 1942.

The musical had its world premiere at the North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, Massachusetts in August 2009. It then played at The Theatre Building Chicago in October 2009.
