B.B. King

No discussion of the blues is complete without mentioning B.B. King. He is considered by many to be the greatest living blues artist, and his influence has been felt by musicians of all genres. His “Three O’Clock Blues” was the first single ever released by a black artist, and he went on to have many other hits throughout his career. If you’re looking for some classic blues guitar, B.B. King is a great place to start.

Muddy Waters

Muddy Waters was an American blues musician who is often cited as the “father of modern Chicago blues”. His style of playing (a electric guitar with a slide) has influenced many other blues guitarists, and he is generally considered one of the greatest and most important musicians in the history of blues music. Some of his most famous songs include “Hoochie Coochie Man”, “I Can’t Be Satisfied”, and “Mannish Boy”.

Buddy Guy

Buddy Guy is a legendary blues singer, songwriter and guitar player who has influenced generations of musicians. He was born in Louisiana in 1936 and began playing guitar at the age of seven. He moved to Chicago in 1957 and quickly became a fixture on the city’s vibrant blues scene.

Guy has released more than 30 albums, including several live recordings, and he has been nominated for 14 Grammy Awards. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005 and the Blues Hall of Fame in 2010. In 2015, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama.

Fronted by husband and wife team Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, this eleven-piece group is quickly making a name for themselves in the blues world. With a unique blend of rock, jazz, and soul, the Tedschi Trucks Band is guaranteed to get your feet moving.

The band got its start in 2010, when Derek and Susan decided to put together a group of their own. They recruited some of the best musicians they could find, including keyboardist Kofi Burbridge, bassist Oteil Burbridge, and drummer Jaimoe Johanson – all of whom were members of the Allman Brothers Band. With such an impressive lineup, it’s no wonder that the Tedschi Trucks Band has quickly become one of the most popular blues bands around.

Joe Bonamassa

Joe Bonamassa is an American blues rock guitarist, singer and songwriter. When he was only 12 years old, Bonamassa opened for B.B. King. In the years that followed, he has shared the stage with such legends as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. His musical style is influenced by British and Irish blues rock bands from the 1960s and 1970s, as well as American artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Bonamassa’s latest album, “Redemption”, was released in September of 2018. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Blues chart and #2 on the Rock chart. It features 11 original songs that were co-written by Bonamassa and a variety of collaborators. With “Redemption”, Bonamassa once again proves that he is one of the most talented and prolific blues guitarists of our time.

Gary Clark Jr.

If you’re looking for some awesome new blues music to check out, look no further than Gary Clark Jr. This young artist is taking the blues world by storm with his unique style and incredible skill on the guitar.

Clark was born and raised in Austin, Texas, and it was there that he first fell in love with the blues. He began playing guitar at the age of 12, and by the time he was in his early twenties, he was already making a name for himself on the Austin music scene. In 2010, he released his first full-length album, Blak and Blu, to critical acclaim.

Since then, Clark has gone on to tour with the likes of Eric Clapton and B.B. King, and he has even performed at the White House for President Obama. His most recent album, The Story of Sonny Boy Slim, was released in 2015 to much fanfare.

Shemekia Copeland

Shemekia Copeland is an American blues singer. She was born in Harlem, New York, United States, the daughter of the late blues cornetist and vocalist Shirley Copeland and the stepdaughter of professor and civil rights activist Richard Henry.

Copeland began singing in clubs with her father when she was eight years old. In 1998, Alligator Records released her debut album Turn the Heat Up!, which received critical acclaim. Since then she has released seven more albums and toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Australia, and Japan. In 2012, she was awarded the Blues Music Award for Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year.

Nikki Hill

Nikki Hill is an up and coming artist making waves in the blues music scene. Hailing from North Carolina, Nikki has a unique sound that draws from her southern roots. Her soulful voice and powerful guitar playing have earned her praise from critics and fans alike. If you’re looking for some new blues music to check out, be sure to give Nikki Hill a listen!

Selwyn Birchwood

Selwyn Birchwood is a young blues artist who is quickly making a name for himself in the music world. Hailing from Tampa, Florida, Selwyn has been playing guitar and singing since he was a teenager. He was first inspired by the likes of B.B. King and Jimi Hendrix, and he soon began to develop his own style of blues.

Selwyn released his debut album, Dosage, in 2013, and he has since toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe. He has won numerous awards, including the prestigious International Blues Challenge in 2014. His most recent album, Pick Your Poison, was released in 2018 to critical acclaim.
