Featuring a mix of traditional dance styles and contemporary moves, the video is a fun showcase of the group’s skills.

Worst Hip Hop Dance Music Videos

Hip hop dance music videos are becoming more popular each day. But, there are some that are just not good. In fact, they are terrible. This article will list the ten worst hip hop dance music videos of all time.

“Barbie Girl” by Aqua

“Barbie Girl” is a song by the Danish-Norwegian dance-pop group Aqua. It was released in May 1997 as their third single overall, and the first United Kingdom release, after “Roses Are Red”. The song is included on the album Aquarium and was written by Aqua’s lead singer René Dif, Søren Rasted, and Claus Norreen. The song topped the charts worldwide, particularly in Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, New Zealand , Norway, Spain , Switzerland , the United Kingdom and the United States. It is Aqua’s most popular work.

The song caused a controversy with Mattel filing a lawsuit against MCA Records (now Universal Music Group), claiming that “Barbie Girl” violated their trademark and turned Barbie into a sex object. The courts ruled in Mattel’s favor on 8 September 2000; Aqua was ordered to stop selling copies of the song and album Aquarium in the United States.

“The Macarena” by Los Del Rio

This Spanish dance track became an unlikely global smash in 1996, thanks in part to its simple, addictive dance moves. The song’s music video features a group of people doing the titular dance in front of various landmarks in Seville, Spain. While the video is admittedly catchy, it’s also cringe-worthy in its cheesiness.

“Who Let the Dogs Out?” by Baha Men

The concept for the video was simple enough: a bunch of guys dancing around in dog masks. But for some reason, the video for “Who Let the Dogs Out?” became an international sensation, thanks in part to its appearances in popular films like “Best in Show” and “Eight Crazy Nights.”

“Cha Cha Slide” by DJ Casper

There’s something about the “Cha Cha Slide” that just makes you want to get up and dance. The song was released in 2000 by DJ Casper and quickly became a popular choice for weddings, parties, and other events. While the song is undeniably catchy, the accompanying music video is unbelievably bad. Featuring lifeless dancing and poor production values, the “Cha Cha Slide” video is a prime example of why some music videos should never be made.

“The Electric Slide” by Marcia Griffiths

Nowadays, it’s hard to find a good hip hop dance music video that doesn’t feature scantily-clad women shaking their behinds. But there was a time when hip hop dance music videos were all about the dance moves and not about the sex appeal. One of the worst offenders in this category is Marcia Griffiths’ “Electric Slide.”

The video features Griffiths and a group of dancers doing the electric slide in front of a green screen. The scenery behind them changes from cityscapes to outer space, but it’s all very static and uninteresting. The dancers themselves don’t look like they’re having much fun, and the whole thing comes off as being very dated and cringe-worthy.
