The Sisters of Mercy are an English rock band, formed in 1980 in Leeds. After achieving early underground fame there, the band had their commercial breakthrough in the mid-1980s and sustained it until the early 1990s, when they broke up and stopped releasing new recorded output. Currently, the band are active again, having rejoined in 1999 for a tour. The group has released three studio albums, the last of which was released in 1990.

“Lucretia My Reflection” is a song by English gothic rock band The Sisters of Mercy. It was released as a single in September 1987 and reached number 11 on the UK Singles Chart. It appeared on the band’s second album Floodland (1987).

Despite being commonly associated with gothic rock, the band’s sound encompasses a number of styles, including bleak and gloomy anthems, rock operas and psychedelic epics. “Wasteland” is a song by The Mission, released as the lead single from their fourth studio album Carved in Sand in February 1990. The song was written by frontman Wayne Hussey and produced by Tim Palmer.

Fields of the Nephilim were a British gothic rock band, formed in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, in 1984. The band became one of the leading bands of the gothic rock and darkwave movements of the 1980s and early 1990s. “Moonchild” is a song by Fields of the Nephilim, released as their seventh single in 1991. It was written by Carl McCoy and Peter Yanowitz.

Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus” was released in 1989 as the lead single from their seventh studio album, Violator. The song became one of the band’s most successful singles, reaching the top ten in several countries.

The music video for “Personal Jesus” was directed by Anton Corbijn and features the band performing the song in a desert landscape. The video is intercut with shots of a woman (played by model Nancy Lee Andrews) walking through the desert. At the end of the video, the woman finds a television set playing a news report about Depeche Mode’s concert in New Orleans, which was canceled due to bad weather.
