2010 BET Hip Hop Awards

The BET Hip Hop Awards are an annual awards show, airing on BET, that recognize hip-hop performers, producers and music video directors. The 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards were held on October 10, 2010 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. This was the first time the show was held in Atlanta. Despite it being the first time, the show was full of controversy.

Best

This year’s BET Hip Hop Awards were packed with plenty of memorable moments, good and bad. On the bright side, Nicki Minaj had a great show, winning three awards including the night’s top prize, MVP of the Year. Drake also put on a great performance, and it was nice to see his hard work paying off with the award for Lyricist of the Year. Other good moments included a touching tribute to Ms. Lauryn Hill and a hilarious bit by Kendrick Lamar which had everyone in stitches.

On the not-so-good side, there were plenty of awkward moments and technical difficulties. Hosts Rick Ross and DJ Khaled got things off to a rocky start with their opening monologue, and things went downhill from there. The auto-tune malfunction during Lil Wayne’s performance was pretty embarrassing, and it was cringe-worthy watching him try to recover from it. And poor Wiz Khalifa couldn’t even get through his acceptance speech without getting tripped up on his words. All in all, it was an interesting night full of highs and lows.

Worst

The 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards were held last night in Atlanta, and while there were some great moments, there were also plenty of head-scratching ones. Here’s a look at the good, the bad and the ugly from last night’s awards show.

The Worst:
-Kanye West’s “All of the Lights” performance: I love Kanye West, but his performance of “All of the Lights” was a hot mess. The staging was confusing, the pyrotechnics were overwhelming and Kanye looked like he was about to have a breakdown. It was a mess.

-Lil’ Wayne’s freestyle: Lil’ Wayne delivered a long, nasally freestyle that lost the crowd about halfway through. It was when he started rapping about Crocs that things really went off the rails.

2010 BET Hip Hop Awards Cyphers

The 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards cyphers were full of both good and bad moments. Some of the cyphers were great, with rappers flowing and spitting bars. But others were lackluster, with rappers falling flat and not bringing their best. Let’s take a look at some of the best and worst moments from the 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards cyphers.

Best

The 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards show aired on October 12th, and featured a number of high-profile cyphers. Some of the best and most memorable moments from the show came from these cyphers, which showcased the talents of some of the biggest names in hip hop.

Among the best cyphers from the 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards were those featuring Lil Wayne, Drake, J Cole, and Wale. Each of these rappers brought their unique style and lyrical prowess to the table, and delivered some truly incredible freestyles. Other standouts included Nicki Minaj, who killed it with her verse in the Young Money cypher, and Kendrick Lamar, whose verse in the TDE cypher was hailed as one of the best of the night.

These cyphers were definite highlights of an otherwise lackluster awards show, and proved once again that when it comes to hip hop, freestyling is king.

Worst

The 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards were held on October 10, 2010, at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. The show was hosted by actor/rapper Ludacris. The show featured several cyphers, which are performances by hip hop artists that are not competing for an award.

Of the cyphers that took place during the show, the one that was widely considered to be the worst was the one featuring rappers Lil’ Kim, Remy Ma, Eve, and Trina. The performance was panned for its lack of cohesion and for the lackluster rhyming by all of the participants.
