The 2012 Billboard Latin Music Awards were held last night in Miami, and it was a star-studded event! The best and brightest in Latin music were in attendance, and we’ve got all the highlights for you right here.

The Billboard Latin Music Awards are back and bigger than ever! This year’s show was packed with A-list celebrities, amazing performances, and of course, the best Latin music has to offer. From traditional ballads to upbeat pop hits, there was something for everyone at the 2012 Latin Billboard Music Awards. Let’s take a look at some of the best moments from this year’s show.

Artist of the Year

The Billboard Latin Music Awards is an annual awards show that honors the most popular artists in Latin music. The awards are presented by the Billboard magazine.

The award for Artist of the Year goes to the artist who had the biggest impact on Latin music in the past year. This year’s nominees are:

– Enrique Iglesias
– Jenni Rivera
– Pitbull
– Shakira
– Romeo Santos

Enrique Iglesias is a Spanish singer, songwriter, actor and record producer. He is one of the most popular Latin artists in the world and has sold more than 100 million records. He has had numerous number-one hits on both the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the Billboard Latin songs chart. His most recent album, “Sex and Love,” was released in 2014 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Jenni Rivera was a Mexican-American singer, songwriter, actress, television producer, spokesperson and entrepreneur. She was known as the “Divinagracia” of Mexican regional music and was one of the best-selling regional Mexican artists of all time. She died in a plane crash in 2012. Pitbull is a Cuban-American rapper, songwriter and actor. His first album, “M.I.A.M.I.,” was released in 2004 and peaked at number 32 on the Billboard 200 chart. He has since released five more albums, all of which have been certified gold or higher by the RIAA. Shakira is a Colombian singer, songwriter, dancer, record producer and philanthropist who has sold over 125 million records worldwide. She is known for her catchy pop melodies, infectious dance moves and her advocacy for children’s education through her charity work with Pies Descalzos Foundation. Romeo Santos is an American singer, songwriter and actor of Dominican descent who rose to fame as a member of the bachata group Aventura. He embarked on a solo career in 2011 with his debut album “Formula Vol. 1,” which became one of the best-selling albums of all time by a Latino artist debuting at number one on both the US Billboard 200 chart and the Top Latin Albums chart

Song of the Year

The top honor at the 2012 Billboard Latin Music Awards went to Romeo Santos’ “Odio,” featuring Drake, for Song of the Year. The track was also named Hot Latin Song of the Year earlier in the evening.

Album of the Year

The Billboard Latin Music Awards are back for 2012, and this year’s list of nominees is full of the best and the brightest in Latin music. From Marc Anthony to Shakira, these are the artists that have been making waves in the Latin music world over the past year.

New Artist of the Year

The award for New Artist of the Year goes to the artist who has achieved success for the first time on the Latin music scene. This year’s nominees are:

Breakthrough Artist of the Year

Revelation of the Year, Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Best New Artist – these are only a few of the phrases used to describe Don Omar during his spectacular year in the music industry. The Latin Billboard Music Awards 2012 recognized his achievements by awarding him with the title of Revelation of the Year. Even though he’s been making music for over a decade, it was his most recent album “Taboo” that made him an international superstar.

His album debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and spawned four hit singles: “Taboo,” “Hasta Que Salga El Sol,” “Dutty Love,” and “You’re the One.” In addition to his music success, he also starred in the film “Fast Five” which was one of the highest grossing films of 2011. He is currently working on his next album which is scheduled to be released later this year.

Tour of the Year

This tour was everything a concert should be: visually stunning, pyrotechnics-packed and great music throughout. It also helped that the artist has one of the strongest catalogs in all of pop music.
