The Billboard Music Awards are set to take place on April 25, 2021, at the Dick Clark Productions studios in Beverly Hills, California. The show will be hosted by Eve and will feature performances by some of the biggest names in Latin music. So, who will take home the big awards?

Bad Bunny

Latin Grammy and Oscar nominee Bad Bunny is up for five awards at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, including Top Latin Artist. The trap and reggaeton singer-songwriter from Puerto Rico has had an incredible year, with hits like “Dakiti,” “Yo Perreo Sola,” and “La Nena.” He is also nominated for Top Latin Male Artist and Top Latin Album for his album El Último Tour del Mundo.

Other top contenders at this year’s BBMAs Latin include Ozuna, J Balvin, Anuel AA, Karol G, and Rosalía. It’s sure to be an exciting night for Latin music!

J Balvin

J Balvin is a leading contender at the Billboard Music Awards 2021 Latin with eight nominations in total. The Colombian reggaeton singer is up for awards including Top Latin Artist and Top Latin Album (‘Colores’). He is also nominated in the newly created ‘Reggaeton’ category for ‘Donde Estarás.’

Other artists with multiple nominations include Bad Bunny (six), Ozuna (five), Romeo Santos (four), and Anitta (three). In the ‘Hot 100’ chart category, several Spanish-language hits are in contention, including Jhay Cortez and J Balvin’s ‘Dákiti,’ Ozuna x Rauw Alejandro’s ‘Lonely,’ and Maluma’s ‘Felices los 4.’

The awards ceremony will take place on May 23 at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. It will be hosted by pop singer Reykon and broadcast live on Telemundo.

Ozuna

Ozuna is a Puerto Rican reggaeton and Latin trap singer. Having released his debut album Odisea in 2017, which topped the US Billboard Top Latin Albums and debuted at number 37 on the US Billboard 200, Ozuna has gone on to release a further three studio albums, Aura (2018), Nibiru (2019) and ENoc (2020), all of which have topped the US Billboard Top Latin Albums. He has also collaborated with several internationally known artists such as Purchasing Cardi B, J Balvin, Bad Bunny, Daddy Yankee, Anuel AA, Lil Wayne, Kelsea Ballerini, Snoop Dogg and Chris Brown.

In 2019 and 2020, Ozuna won five Billboard Music Awards for Top Latin Artist and Top Latin Male Artist. He is nominated for four awards at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards: Top Latin Album for ENoc, Top Latin Artist, Top Latin Male Artist and Top Selling Song for “Caramelo”.

Bad Bunny

It’s safe to say that Bad Bunny had an incredible year in 2020. He released two albums, “YHLQMDLG” and “EL ÚLTIMO TOUR DEL MUNDO,” which both topped the Billboard Latin albums chart. He also collaborated with artists like Shakira, Jhay Cortez, and Lil Nas X. His song “Dakiti” with Jhay Cortez was one of the biggest hits of the year, spending nine weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Latin songs chart.

With all of this success, it’s no surprise that Bad Bunny is one of the frontrunners for the 2021 Latin Grammy Awards. He’s nominated in nine categories, including album of the year, record of the year, and best urban fusion/performance. He’s also up for three awards at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards Latin: top Latin artist, top Latin album, and top Latin song.

Bad Bunny is definitely one to watch at this year’s Latin Grammy Awards. He has a good chance of taking home multiple awards and cementing his place as one of the biggest names in Latino music.

J Balvin

Colombian reggaeton singer J Balvin is one of the biggest names in Latin music today. He has won numerous awards, including three Latin Grammy Awards, and he is nominated for four Grammy Awards at the 2021 ceremony. His hits include “Mi Gente,” “I Like It,” and “Machika.”

Ozuna

Ozuna is up for nine awards at the 2021 Billboard Latin Music Awards, including Artist of the Year and Top Latin Artist of the Year. The Puerto Rican singer is also nominated for Top Latin Album of the Year for ENOC, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. Other nominees in the category include Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Rosalia and Sebastian Yatra.
