The 1975 – “The Sound”

“The Sound” is a song by English rock band The 1975. It was released on 10 January 2016 as the lead single from their second studio album, I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It (2016). The song peaked at number 8 on the UK Singles Chart.

The black-and-white music video was directed by Tim Mattia and shot in Los Angeles. The video features the band performing in an abandoned warehouse.

The Paper Kites – “Bloom”

The Paper Kites are an indie rock band from Melbourne, Australia. The group formed in 2010 and consists of Sam Bentley, Christina Lacy, David Powys, Josh Bentley, and sam Nicholson. The band’s debut album States was released in 2012, followed by twelvefour in 2015.

“Bloom” is a song by The Paper Kites. It was released as a single on 9 August 2012 and appears on the band’s debut album States. The song peaked at number 24 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was certified platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). The song’s music video was directed by Rock Jacobs and was filmed in black-and-white.

The Temper Trap – “Fall Together”

The Temper Trap is an Australian rock band that formed in 2005. The group consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Dougy Mandagi, bassist Jonathon Aherne, drummer Toby Dundas, and keyboardist and backing vocalist Joseph Greer. They are best known for their breakthrough hit “Sweet Disposition”, which peaked at number 8 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was voted by Triple J listeners as the number 1 song of 2009.

The band released their self-titled debut album in May 2009 to critical acclaim; it debuted at number 4 on the ARIA Albums Chart and was certified platinum in Australia. The album won the 2010 ARIA Music Award for Best Rock Album and features the singles “Fools”, ” DOWN WITH THE SHIP”, “Science of Fear” and “Moses”.

In November 2013, they released their second album, More…, a concept album about new beginnings. It debuted at number 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The first single from More…, “Trembling Hands”, peaked at number 18 on the ARIA Singles Chart, while the second single, “Doorman”, peaked at number 33.

The Naked and Famous – “Higher”

“Higher” is a song by New Zealand indie rock band The Naked and Famous. It was released on 23 September 2016 as the lead single from their third studio album Simple Forms. The song peaked at number 14 on the New Zealand Singles Chart.

The Paper Kites – “Electric Indigo”

“Electric Indigo” is a song by Australian indie rock band The Paper Kites. It was released on 27 May 2016 as the lead single from the band’s third studio album, twelvefour (2015). The song was written by Sam Bentley, Kim Churchmichael, Christina Lacy, David Powys, Miles Walsh and Dave West. “Electric Indigo” peaked at number 91 on the ARIA Singles Chart and was nominated for APRA Song of the Year at the APRA Awards of 2017.

The song’s music video was directed by Joe Carlini and released on 15 June 2016. The video is presented in black-and-white and features footage of the band performing in an abandoned warehouse.

The group’s musical style has been described as a “melding of Americana and chamber pop”. Their debut album States was released in 2012, and their second album twelvefour in 2014. The group have toured internationally and have supported such artists as Of Monsters and Men, Mumford & Sons, Passenger and Lissie.
