Who is G Love?
Garrett Dutton, better known by his stage name G. Love, is an American musician, singer and songwriter. He is the frontman of the trio G. Love & Special Sauce, with Jeff Cleary and Jimi jazz Wiggins. He has released eleven studio albums, including three with Special Sauce. His latest album, The Juice, was released on January 29, 2019.
G. Love began his musical career busking on the streets of Boston and Philadelphia. In 1994, he released his debut album, G. Love & Special Sauce, on Epic Records which went on to sell over 1 million copies. The album’s single “Cold Beverage” was a Top 40 hit in 1995. His follow-up album Coast to Coast Motel was released in 1996 and featured the hit single “I-76”. In 1998, G. Love released his third studio album Philadelphonic which peaked at #45 on the Billboard 200 chart and features the singles “Rodeo Clowns” and “Baby’s Got Sauce”.

G Love (born Garrett Dutton), the band’s frontman, is a self-taught guitarist and harmonica player. He was heavily influenced by his father’s record collection, which included artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Muddy Waters, and B.B. King.
Special Sauce is composed of keyboardist James “Jimi Jazz” Prescott and drummer Jeffrey “The Houseman” Clemens. The band’s name was inspired by a bottle of Tabasco sauce that Dutton found in the cupboard while they were rehearsing in Prescott’s apartment.
G Love and Special Sauce have released eleven studio albums, including their latest, The Juice, in 2019. They have toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe, and their songs have been featured in several films and television shows.
