Blues Traveler brought the party to College Street Music Hall in New Haven, CT on Saturday, March 3, 2018. The last time the band was in town was October of 2015 at Toad’s Place. John Popper and co. seemed to have a great time on stage, with Popper making several references to the fact that this was their first show of the tour. The setlist included many of the band’s hits, as well as a few new songs off their newest album, Hurry Up & Hang Around.

Highlights of the show included “The Mountains Win Again,” “Run-Around,” and “But Anyway.” The band also played a cover of Van Morrison’s “Into the Mystic,” which had the crowd singing along. For their encore, Blues Traveler played “Hook” and “Carolina Blues.” It was a fun show from start to finish and a great way to kick off the 2018 touring season.

Encore

The show isn’t over until the band comes back for an encore, and Blues Traveler made sure to give their fans what they wanted Saturday night at College Street Music Hall. The rockgroup return to the stage for a three-song set that included “Run-Around,” “But Anyway,” and “Hook.”

Frontman John Popper, who was battling a cold throughout the night, thanked the crowd for their energy and said the group was happy to be back in New Haven. “We’ve had some great times here,” he said.

Popper also announced that the band would be back in the area for two shows at Hartford’s Infinity Music Hall in October.
