The Marshall Tucker Band is an American country music band from Spartanburg, South Carolina. The group’s blend of country, rock, jazz, and R&B has made them one of the most enduring and influential groups in country music history.

The band was founded in 1972 by Doug Gray (lead vocals, percussion), Toy Caldwell (guitar, steel guitar, fiddle, mandolin), George McCorkle (guitar), Paul Riddle (drums), and Jerry Eubanks (flute, saxophone). The current lineup includes Gray, keyboardist/singer Marcus James Henderson, bassist Pat Elwood, drummer B.B. Borden, and guitarist Chris Hicks.

The Marshall Tucker Band has released 21 studio albums and has had five No. 1 singles on the Billboard Country charts. They are best known for their hits “Can’t You See,” “Fire on the Mountain,” and “Heard It in a Love Song.”

The band was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2001 and the South Carolina Hall of Fame in 2009.

The Statler Brothers were an American country music, gospel, and vocal group. The quartet was formed in 1955 performing locally and, in 1964, they began touring nationally with Johnny Cash. The group disbanded in 2002 but was later inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The Statler Brothers were an American country music group founded in 1955. The quartet originally consisted of brothers Harold Reid (1928-2020) and Don Reid (1932-2020), Phillip Balsley (born 1934) and Lew DeWitt (1938-1990), all natives of Staunton, Virginia. DeWitt’s baritone was the group’s distinctive sound throughout its various lineup changes; the brothers performed their own country-harmony style, which combined elements of gospel, honky tonk, folk, and pop music. In 1964, they began backup vocal work for Johnny Cash on his albumRing of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash. At the same time, they wrote a handful of songs that would become country standards, including”Flowers on the Wall”, “Bed of Rose’s”, and”Don’t Wait on Me”.

As their popularity grew in the 1960s and 1970s, they toured extensively and released over a dozen top ten albums on Billboard magazine’s Top Country Albums chart; several of these albums also performed well on the all-genre Billboard 200. The group continued to release successful recordings through the 1980s and 1990s; their 1984 albumProjections featured two number one singles on the Hot Country Songs chart,”My Only Love” and”Too Much on My Heart”. They disbanded in 2002 due to Harold’s retirement. Don died in 2020, followed by Harold nearly two months later.

The Statler Brothers were inducted into both the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and the Gospel Music Hall of Famein 2013.

They also released forty-one albums.* All four original members have been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame; DeWitt was inducted in 2008 and the remaining three in 2010. On April 30, 2008 Harold Reid’s voice was heard for the last time as he died from kidney failure at his home in Staunton at the age of 80.
