Best Club Music of 2008

2008 was a great year for club music. Hip hop, in particular, saw a lot of great music being released. In this article, we will take a look at the best club music of 2008. We will look at the top 10 songs that were released in 2008 and what made them so popular.

DJ Kool

DJ Kool, born George Edward Matthews, is a hip hop disc jockey and producer from Baltimore, Maryland. He is best known for his 1992 single “Let Me Clear My Throat”, which was a hit in clubs and on the pop and R&B charts.

DJ Kool’s music is a mix of old-school hip hop, new school hip hop, and Baltimore club music. He has collaborated with a number of artists, including Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes, Lil Jon, and Pitbull.

50 Cent

It’s been a long time coming, but 50 Cent has finally released his highly anticipated fifth studio album, “Street King Immortal.” The project features guest appearances from Eminem, Dr. Dre, Alicia Keys, and more, and is sure to be one of the biggest albums of the year. 50 Cent is also set to make his return to the big screen this year in the blockbuster film “Southpaw.”

Nelly

Nelly’s fifth studio album, Brass Knuckles, was released on September 16, 2008, after several delays. The album debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 96,000 copies in the United States. The first single, “Party People”, featuring Fergie, peaked at #17 on the Hot 100 and #2 on the Hot Rap Tracks chart. The second single, “Stepped on My J’z”, featuring Jermaine Dupri and Ciara, peaked at #48 on the Hot 100 and spent five weeks atop the Hot Rap Tracks chart.

T.I.

Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. (born September 25, 1980), known professionally as T.I. and Tip, is an American rapper and actor. Harris began to gain major recognition in 2003, following his first high-profile feature, on fellow Atlanta-based rapper Bone Crusher’s single, “Never Scared”. His debut album I’m Serious (2001), was released shortly afterwards on October 9, 2001 through Arista Records.Harris appeared on DJ Khaled’s album We the Best (2007) and Lil Wayne’s 2008 album Tha Carter III, on the track “Off That”.

Lil Jon

Lil Jon was one of the most popular club music artists of 2008. His songs “Get Low” and “Yeah!” were both huge hits, and he collaborated with a number of other top artists, including Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, and R. Kelly.

Kanye West

If there was one artist who managed to be both the biggest mainstream success story and the most fascinating underground figure of 2008, it was Kanye West. The required narrative of his year is by now familiar: After the critical and commercial disappointment of Late Registration, West went on a – hiatus, only to come back with a new album, Graduation, that outstripped anything he’d done before in terms of sales (it debuted at #1 with over 900,000 copies sold) and succeeded in capturing much of what made his earlier work great.

Best Hip Hop of 2008

The year 2008 was a big one for hip hop. A lot of new artists emerged and made a name for themselves. There were also some great albums released by established artists. In this article, we will be taking a look at the best hip hop of 2008.

Lupe Fiasco

Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool was one of the best hip-hop albums of 2008. It was a concept album about a character named “The Cool” who is a drug dealer, pimp, and murderer. The album was dark, but it had a sense of humor, and it was one of the most creative and innovative hip-hop albums in recent memory.

Lil Wayne

2008 was definitely Lil Wayne’s year. He released two critically acclaimed albums, Tha Carter III and Tha Carter IV, and a string of popular mixtapes. His single “Lollipop” was one of the biggest hits of the year, and he collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, including T-Pain, Robin Thicke, and Kanye West. He also won four Grammy Awards, solidifying his place as one of the best hip hop artists of the year.

Nas

Nas was born Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones on September 14, 1973, in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York. The son of jazz musician Olu Dara, he began rap at age nine with the encouragement of his brother, Jungle. After issuing the mixtapes It Ain’t Hard to Tell (1992) and I Am… (1993), he debuted with Illmatic in 1994. That set remains one of hip-hop’s most acclaimed albums for its poetic storytelling and smoother G-funk beats that contrasted with the grittier textures of East Coast rap. The follow-up, It Was Written (1996), was equally successful; despite some criticism for its more pop-oriented direction, it debuted at number one and included the Grammy-nominated “Street Dreams.” Upon release from his contractual obligations to Columbia Records in 1997 — which resulted in a lack of promotion for his next album — Nas endured a much-publicized feud with reigningEast Coast rapper Jay Z that continued into 2002.

Jay-Z

It’s impossible to overstate the impact and importance of Jay-Z in 2008. He was not only the best hip hop artist of the year, but he was also one of the most dominant forces in all of music. He released two albums that were both critical and commercial successes, and he cemented his status as one of the greatest rappers of all time. If there was any doubt about Jay-Z’s place in history, it was erased in 2008.

Eminem

Eminem had one of the biggest years of his career in 2008, thanks to the success of his album “Relapse.” The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, selling 741,000 copies in its first week. It was one of only two hip hop albums to sell more than a million copies in 2008.

Conclusion

In conclusion, 2008 was an excellent year for club music and hip hop. There were many great songs released, and it was hard to narrow down the list to just ten. However, the songs on this list represent the best of the best of what 2008 had to offer in club music and hip hop. So if you’re looking for some great songs to add to your collection, or if you just want to relive some of the best moments of 2008, be sure to check out these tracks.
