Collective Soul is comprised of five members: lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Ed Roland, lead guitarist Dean Roland, bassist Will Turpin, drummer Johnny Rabb, and keyboardist/pianist Jesse Triplett. Together, they have released nine studio albums, three live albums, and one greatest hits album. Their most recent album, See What You Started by Continuing, was released in 2015.

The album catapulted to the top position on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart in 1994, thanks to the popularity of its first single “Shine.” The song would eventually become one of the most popular tracks of 1994, peaking at number ten on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and spending a total of twenty-three weeks in the Top 40; it would also earn a Grammy Award nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance at the 37th Grammy Awards.
