Releases

In recent months, a number of independent music labels have begun to emerge within the future funk scene. These labels are typically focused on releases from one or a few artists, and aim to promote and distribute their music to a wider audience. Here is a list of some of the most notable future funk labels that have cropped up in recent months:

Funk Street:
Funk Street is a taste-making future funk label based in Los Angeles, California. The label was founded in early 2017 by producers Tastytreat and Atriman, with the aim of promoting and releasing high-quality future funk music from both established and up-and-coming artists. To date, the label has released music from a wide range of artists, including Ketsa, Oddsock, PYRMDPLAZA, and VHS Dream.

Wave Racer Inc.:
Wave Racer Inc. is a forward-thinking record label based in Orlando, Florida. The label was founded in late 2016 by producer Wave Racer (real name Mike Daly), with the goal of releasing and promoting innovative new music within the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) genre. Wave Racer Inc. has since released music from a number of talented artists, including Wave Racer himself, Batsauce, Flamingosis, and Saint Pepsi.

Chillhop Music:
Chillhop Music is a jazzy/chill hip-hop record label based in The Netherlands. The label was founded in 2013 by producers LoFiLeRiC and ChuBeatz, with the purpose of releasing chilled-out hip-hop beats for people to relax and study to. In the years since its inception, Chillhop Music has grown into one of the most respected names in underground hip-hop, with releases from artists such as Jinsang, L’indécis, Mndsgn., and Tape House Ballads.
