The year 2010 in country music saw the return of traditionalism to the mainstream, with hits coming from artists such as Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, and Zac Brown Band. The success of these acts was in large part due to their embrace of traditional country sounds and themes, something that had been lacking in the genre for much of the 2000s. This was also a good year for female country artists, with Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift both having huge hits. Here are some of the best country songs of 2010.

Best Female Country Artist

Miranda Lambert – Miranda Lambert was the big winner at the 2010 Academy of Country Music Awards, taking home five trophies, including Album of the Year for her album “Revolution.” She also won Female Vocalist of the Year and Single Record of the Year for her hit “The House That Built Me.”

Carrie Underwood – Carrie Underwood won two Grammy Awards in 2010 for Best Country Album and Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for “I Told You So,” her duet with Randy Travis. She also had a successful year on the country charts with her singles “Temporary Home” and “Undo It.”

Best Country Group

The best Country group of 2010 is Lady Antebellum. They are a trio made up of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood. All three of them contribute to the songwriting and vocal performance. Kelley and Haywood also play guitar on many tracks. This group has country music awards and have been nominated for several Grammy awards.

Sugarland
Although they had been around since 2002, it was in 2010 that Sugarland really broke out with the release of their album “The Incredible Machine.” The album’s first single, “Stuck Like Glue,” was a massive hit, spending five weeks at the top of the country charts.
