The 2017 country music award season is upon us! Here are the best award shows of the year, where you can catch your favorite artists performing and accepting awards.

CMA Awards

The annual CMA Awards show is one of the most prestigious country music award shows of the year. This year, the show will be hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley. The show will be broadcast live on ABC on November 8, 2017.

Date and Location

The 53rd Annual CMA Awards will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The awards show will air live on ABC at 8:00 pm ET / 7:00 pm CT.

Performances

The show started off with a very emotional tribute to the victims of the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival Shooting that happened just a month ago.
Some of the biggest stars in country music took the stage to sing “Tombstone” by Eric Church, who was performing at the festival when the tragedy occurred.
Eric Church, himself, joined in via satellite from Nashville and ended the song with an emotional speech about how country music will never be scared and how these kinds of events will only make the genre stronger.

Many other amazing performances happened throughout the night, including Keith Urban’s touching rendition of “Bridge Over Troubled Water”, Luke Bryan paying tribute to Glen Campbell with a performance of “Rhinestone Cowboy” and Little Big Town taking home the award for Vocal Group of the Year for their album “The Breaker”.
Miranda Lambert also won Female Vocalist of the Year for her album “Weight of These Wings’ and Brooks & Dunn won Duo of the Year, making this their eleventh win in this category.

The 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 2 at 8PM ET / 7PM CT on CBS. The show will take place at the T-Mobile Arena.

Performances

The show started off with a bang, with Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker teaming up for a medley of hits. Keith Urban followed with a high-energy performance of his new single, “The Fighter.” Carrie Underwood took the stage next, performing her emotional ballad “Cry Pretty.” Other standout performances included Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Florida Georgia Line, and Little Big Town.
