The 2018 Country Music Awards will take place in Nashville on November 14, 2018. The awards show will be broadcast live on CBS. The show will feature performances by some of the biggest names in country music, including Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, and Jason Aldean. The event will also include a tribute to the victims of the Las Vegas mass shooting that took place at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in October 2017.

Automatic nominations were announced on September 12, 2018 for musical excellence for the eligibility period of July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018. Nominations in far more categories than in previous years were announced on September 25, 2018. Kacey Musgraves won Album of the Year and three other awards, becoming the first woman to win Album of the Year in back-to-back years since Taylor Swift’s Fearless won in 2010 and 2011. Chris Stapleton won Male Vocalist of the Year for the third consecutive year, becoming only the second artist ever to do so after Alabama’s Randy Owen (won four times consecutively between 1982 and 1985). Ashley McBryde won New Artist of the Year; she is only the third woman ever to win this award (following Carrie Underwood in 2006 and Miranda Lambert in 2009). Old Dominion won both Single of the Year and Song of the Year; they are only the fourth group or duo ever to win both awards in the same year (after Lady Antebellum in 2010, Little Big Town in 2012, and Florida Georgia Line in 2013).


The 2018 Country Music Awards did not disappoint when it came to memorable performances! Some of country music’s biggest stars took the stage to perform fan-favorite hits and new songs. Here are some of the night’s best performances:

-Kacey Musgraves opened the show with a moving performance of her song “Slow Burn.”
-Darius Rucker brought the house down with his performance of “Straight to Hell.”
– Carrie Underwood wowed the crowd with her renditions of “Cry Pretty” and “Love Wins.”
– Florida Georgia Line had everyone on their feet with their upbeat performance of “Simple.”
– Keith Urban gave an electrifying performance of his new song “Never Comin Down.”
