The McNaMarrs – A family of five from Nashville, Tennessee who are all involved in the country music industry in some way. patriarch Mick McNaMarr is a successful country music songwriter, while his wife Jodi is a former backup singer for country music legend Dolly Parton. Their three children – twins Brooke and Dylan, and daughter Savannah – are all aspiring singers and songwriters.

The Wilsons – A family of four from Franklin, Tennessee who are all members of the successful country music band Love and Theft. The band is made up of brothers Stephen and Eric Wilson, their cousin JR Schumann, and lead singer/guitarist Brian Bandas. The Wilsons’ parents, Jeff and Kathy, manage the band full-time.

The Ratliffs – A family of five from Pigeon Forge, Tennessee who are all involved in country music entertainment at Dollywood, a theme park owned by Dolly Parton. patriarch Marshall Ratliff is Dollywood’s Vice President of Entertainment & Talent; his wife Jackie is Vice President of Marketing & Public Relations; their son Chris is a performer at the park; daughter Katie is a performer and choreographer; and son Dustin is studying to be a sound engineer.

In May 2011, it was announced that The Country Music Family Reunion had been renewed for a second season, which began airing on September 23, 2011.

The Subplots

In addition to the main plot, there are several subplots that keep the story interesting. For example, one subplot follows the relationship between Jason and his ex-wife, Holly. Jason is trying to move on with his life and start over, but Holly isn’t ready to let go. This creates tension and conflict that adds to the overall narrative.
