The Country Music Marathon is returning in 2017 after being cancelled due to the severe weather conditions in 2016. The date has been set for Saturday the 8th of April and the theme will be ‘Music City United’.

This will be the fourth year in a row that the Country Music Marathon has taken place, with the event having previously been held in Nashville, Tennessee. The marathon is a major annual event for the city, with over 100,000 people attending each year.

The Country Music Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the United States and is also one of the most popular marathons in the world. The event attracts runners from all over the world, with many runners coming from countries such as Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

The marathon starts at 7:00 am and finishes at 2:00 pm, with live music being played throughout the course. There are also a number of water stations along the route where runners can stop to grab a drink.

The course starts at LP Field, home of the Tennessee Titans, and winds its way through downtown Nashville, past Holler & Dash Biscuits and through Marathon Music Works. Runners will enjoy live music on more than 15 stage along the route, and will cross the finish line in front of the historic Ryman Auditorium.

How to Register for the Country Music Marathon

With the release of the official 2017 Country Music Marathon route, it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to register for the race! Here are a few things to keep in mind as you get ready to sign up:

1. The Country Music Marathon is a popular race, and spots fill up quickly! Be sure to register as soon as possible after registration opens in order to guarantee your spot.

2. You can register for the Country Music Marathon online or by mail. To register online, visit the official Country Music Marathon website and click on the “Register Now” button. To register by mail, download and print out the registration form from the website, and then send it in with your payment.

3. The registration fee for the Country Music Marathon varies depending on when you register. If you register between October 1 and December 31, 2016, the fee is $135; if you register between January 1 and March 31, 2017, the fee is $145; and if you register after April 1, 2017, the fee is $155. In addition to the registration fee, there is also a mandatory $12 processing fee that will be added to your total cost.

4. The Country Music Marathon offers a few different ways that you can save on your registration fee. One way is to sign up early—as mentioned above, registering before December 31 will save you $10 off of your total cost. Another way to save is through one of the Marathon’s team discounts—if you are part of a team of 20 or more people registered for the race, each team member will receive a $5 discount on their registration fee. Finally, if you are a member of certain running clubs (such as New York Road Runners or Boston Athletic Association), you may be eligible for an additional discount—be sure to check with your club for more information.

5. Once you have registered for the Country Music Marathon, be sure to start training! The Country Music Marathon Race Day Schedule

As in years past, the Country Music Marathon will start and finish in downtown Nashville. The race day schedule is as follows:
-The 5K race will start at 7:00 a.m.
-The half marathon will start at 7:15 a.m.
-The full marathon will start at 7:30 a.m.

The Country Music Marathon Training Programs

Assuming you are in reasonably good shape and have your doctor’s OK to start a marathon training program, there are a few decisions to make before you can start lacing up your shoes. Do you want to join a training group or go it alone? Do you have a time goal? If so, is it realistic? What type of program will fit into your lifestyle? The answers to these questions will help direct you to the best training program for you.

The Country Music Marathon offers two types of training programs designed to help runners of all levels cross the finish line on race day – the Beginner Program and the MORE Program.

The Beginner Program is for those who:

Are new to running or just getting back into it after some time off
Have completed a few 5K or 10K races but are not yet ready for the half marathon distance
Ran a half marathon before but would like structure and accountability in their training program
Don’t have much time to train but are willing to make some sacrifices to get in shape for race day

The MORE Program is for those who:

Have been consistently running for several months and are ready to take on the challenge of training for a half marathon
Have completed at least one half marathon before and are looking to improve their time or want more structure and accountability in their training program
Run regularly and have several hours per week that they can dedicate to their Training Program
